    Backcountry Purist Contest

Is anyone working on entries for the Backcountry Purist contest? They are looking for 'the ultimate backcountry purist'. It's no mean feat to enter, but would be pretty sick if you did win (4 week guided backcountry trip to 44 different backcountry lodges in BC!). It's been snowing here a bit the last week, but I have no trips planned and don't tend to document my jaunts

Just curious if anyone else has seen or is planning on entering. Interested to see what stories people come up with for entries. Looks pretty quiet at the moment so it could be an easy win

For those that haven't seen it yet here is the contest site: www.backcountrypurist.com

"No mean feat" means that it is difficult, not easy.

My Bad. I meant it seems pre simple to enter. It's on again ay! No entries yet, but I look forward to living vicariously through others. (I didn't get any touring time in last year, as I have not got the funds to get the required training and gear. Some day…). Here it is for those interested: www.backcountrypurist.com

Yes, it's back. Our first winner was Daniel Pereda (with this awesome entry: http://backcountrypurist.com/daniel-pereda/ ). Get in there and have a go. I'm sure there have been a bunch trips going down all throughout BC with the recent bluebird weather! http://backcountrypurist.com

Another month, another winner. George Oulton won January's Backcountry Purist contest and will now get a free trip to ski (or board) the bottomless pow at Mt Carlyle Lodge for a full week! Check out his entry and see how simple it is to win a trip!

February is the last chance to enter, so get on it!

I'm too poor to afford a pass this season so all my turns, including those with my kids, are taking place in the backcountry this year. Does that make me a purist?

Am I the only one that finds it funny that the prize for the BC "purist" is a guided trip?

Sure, why not! You're doing what it takes to get some turns. You sound like a prime candidate for a trip too, so get something together and take a stab at it. February 28th is the last day for entries though, so hurry!

After all the self guided missions, you deserve to kick back with some help from someone that knows the area well, no?

Latest entry went up and features some amazing turns in great conditions!
