Vinman, dude, which ligament have I rogered?
Wednesday at La Grave. Feeling a bit full of cold but decided to go with the boys to tackle the couloir banane. Through the trees, the snow was much heavier than it has been. Came out towards the P1 lift, down some bumps, caught both front tips in a snow plough just as I was about to take the rest of the slope straight. The tiprs span me round so I was praying to Mecca uphill. I felt a strong pull just lateral to my patella tendon. I could weight bear and managed a few gentle turns down to the lift. There is local oedema only, tenderness just on the joint line which hurts with twisting and full squats feel stiff. I hiked up a slope today and it felt good. Needless to say, the couloir banane was not attempted.
I know it's nothing serious and ice is really helping but I'd love to know what you think (as it's not my specialism etc). I'm probably going to go back up La Meige tomorrow.
BTW La Grave is amazing!!!!Monty Python's version of the cougar phenomenon:
"This is a frightened city. Over these houses, over these streets hangs a pall of fear. Fear of a new kind of violence which is terrorizing the city. Yes, gangs of old ladies attacking defenseless, fit young men".

hmmmm,
Could be your LCL or lateral meniscus. The jt. line tenderness and twisting parts make me think meniscus. Hit it will ice 20 min on 30-45 min off repeat frequently.
If it is alot more swollen tomorrow be thinking meniscus also. But hopefully it is only an LCL sprain.
Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Thanks, Vinman.
It's feeling pretty good. The ice worked a treat and I skied the couloir banane (slowly) yesterday without a twinge.
You should charge commision for all this advice! You can invoice me in beer if you like.

Just glad it turned out to be nothing significant.
BTW, Mrs. Roo check the peroneal nerve thread in gimp central. Your expertise may be needed.
