As Comish and Long Duc Dong suggested, it may be done by April 20th. Sooner is better if more snow doesn't dump.

Fair Weather For the Next Two Days Then Eastern Pacific Troughing Setting Up With Snowfall Possibilities Next Week….
    Friday March 9, 2012
Posted at 9:49 am by Howard
    .Brief Update Saturday:

Trend is intact for an Eastern Pacific long wave Trof to set up over the next few days. Although the upper jet still favors the pacific NW and Northern Ca through Mid week….The systems become increasingly wetter by mid week. As we get to Friday, Strong upstream amplification occurs on both EC and GFS models. Thus confidence remains high for a significant storm that will bring several feet to the high country of Mono County beginning next Friday through St Patty’s Day weekend. The storm is cold and the Powder by the end of the week could potentially be the deepest and best of the year. (Don’t put your boards away yet!)

I can't make it up until the end of the month, but I hope we get a big storm window to keep dumping between now and then. It looks like I will be there the 31st to the 7th, and again when ever the mini is decided. It looks like we will make the end of April without too much difficulty, assuming this window opens and lets the storms roll in, (a big assumption this year.)

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

    18 days skiing in 2012/2013 (12 powder day's)

Hey Charlie, how you been? Maybe catch a few runs if I head up, Same with the others heading up.

    This forecast sounds interesting....
    http://forecast.weather.gov/product....n=1&glossary=1
IN THE SIERRA ABOVE 7000 FEET, CERTAINTY IS HIGH IN A FEW FEET OF
SNOW, WITH GFS/ECMWF CONSISTENTLY PRODUCING 1.00-1.50 INCHES OF
LIQUID PER 6 HOURS AHEAD OF, AND ALONG THE FRONT FRIDAY INTO
SATURDAY. TOTAL LIQUID AMOUNTS ALONG THE CREST ARE AT 3-4 INCHES.
THIS STRONGLY SUGGESTS SNOWFALL RATES IN EXCESS OF 2 INCHES PER HOUR
WITH GUSTY WINDS AND WHITEOUT CONDITIONS DURING THE HEIGHT OF THE
STORM. TOTAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF 2-4 FEET ARE LIKELY WITH HIGH
END POTENTIAL AT 5-6 FEET. IN THE MAMMOTH AREA WOULD NOT BE
SURPRISED IN TOTALS NEAR 6 FEET AS THE POSITION OF THE JET INTO
THE CENTRAL CALIFORNIA COAST WOULD PRODUCE THE LONGEST DURATION OF
    HEAVY PRECIP.

    Piggity,

Way too few days on the hill. Haven't been many storms to chase this season. But hopefully will get a few in next 2 weeks. PM me if you end up going.

Was going up solo but last minute connected with 2 different groups of friends that are rolling up, all non-mags as far as I know. Might be tough to motivate them to meet up with more people, especially on a pow day. I'm sure we'll all be lapping the same chairs anyway. Ullr needs to deliver the goods

We did get the top today. We got some video, including some of Splat ripping the pow. The snow deep and held up pretty well considering the wind that had gotten on it. Probably safe to say the best day of the year at Mammoth.
I got my Vans on but they look like sneakers.....

Xposting from the socal thread where I was giving whyturn a hard time, but this is how it was up top today, piggity - a lot thicker here than over in monument/paranoids, where it blew in super fucking deep and light. Two more storms like this and that mini is gonna rawk. This is what I was talking about Vets. Finally, a real storm. Captain Powder emailed me wondering about the mini...

    Big Tim and Mitch...

It was a great weekend. Likely best pow day I have had for awhile on Monday. Sorry I missed a few of the mags. I was busy chatting up the ladies in the lift lines and skiing with them on Sunday. Monday exceeded my expectations. Skiing solo, I don't have any action shots, just some nice scenics to help me through the summer. See you guys at the mini for sure.
