Black Diamond carbon probe
No big deal, just FYI for anyone interested.
I have a few different probes and been using a 4 year old BD carbon one mostly this season. It has been on the shelf for the last two seasons after previous light use. Hard to estimate, however I guess it has been assembled about 70 times.
Yesterday the female part of the tubing broke in two places and pieces of carbon broke off (one about 5x5mm) so that you can now see the male part inside the female.
The probe still works fine, but obviously if the damage grows next time I assemble, it may not.
Personally I'm not fussed other than reminding myself to check gear for wear and tear and replace as needed.
Just a heads-up for anyone using a carbon probe frequently. Check it for integrity.Life is not lift served.

Lots of sexy innuendos in this post which alone deserves a bump.
But seriously guys, check your poles for female parts.
