Not so sure I agree with you ACH... so the lesson for father's here like me is to have told my child when he came home from school after being humiliated by bullies..." It's your fault..you take yourself too seriously...you should see the humorous side of what the bully is saying to everybody at school about you...it's a reality check for you son! The bully is not the problem here son, it's you"
Really Scots? This guy is an Ivy league MBA who is sales trading at an elite bank. Some of you forget that some mags here actually know this guy and he is an alpha male with a monster ego and is built like an NFL linebacker. Grade school bullying, which is awful, most certainly does not apply as an analogy here.

Don't worry, right now there is a banker or several trying to work out how they can surreptitiously network this guy for their own personal advantage, even if it just as a private ego-boosting hobby of making 'good will gestures'. Bankers started this, they will end it. The free market will find a solution.

    Which begs the question...

What will he do when comes across his first BELIEVE sticker on a car bumper in the parking lot or a pair of skis in the lift line?

I’m guessing - you better know how to fight.

I am a bit worried for my fellow Portland mags. The stickers were born here and you see them everywhere, and GSA-advocate Spook is allegedly located in Portland also (although he's yet to be spotted). It wouldn't surprise me if the GSA, Spook, and a Believe sticker intersect in the Portland area. If it's me, I'll do my best to let my spirit rawr while I take a beating for my faith. Smite me father.

In defense of the finance community, while we have more than our fair share of douchebags, not everyone fits the stereotype, nor are large egos unique to i-bankers. However, Biff Chalupa did give us a bit of an insight into this particular character and I have to say, if I were Splat, I wouldn't have bothered opening an invitation to him.

I'm hearing you Stunt, I was one of those ever popular traders myself. I am not saying the GSA is a bad guy, I am saying this guy can most certainly take care of himself and his biz breeds thick skinned folks. TGR is like water on a ducks back to him. Any threat of legal action by him is making him laugh at his desk. The guy drinks beers with smbdy and I bet he owns this at the end. Praise him......LLGSA

I don't know how you have the time to post on this forum, Greg. After all, AZ must be slammed with people after all of the marketing you do to draw people away from this forum. If by some way I am incorrect on your member count, you may want to try new methods of gaining the interest of fellow skiers if these attempts aren't working out. Good luck to you and your forum and I do hope to see some REAL contributions to this board from you soon.

Quite simply, there needs to be moderators to step up and take action from time to time. While I am here,I would like to take this opportunity to formally invite you (as well as all TGR Maggots , TTip-ers, NewSchoolers, Epicureans, jongs and lurkers alike) to come join our fun-loving but responsible bunch of snowriding aficionados at http://forums.alpinezone.com/. I think most all of you will find that our seasoned moderators "keep the bar high" by maintaining a sense of order and decorum, while encouraging quality discussion about our favorite pastime. I can assure you that "newbies"'(jongs) are welcomed with open arms by our entire community(unlike here at TGR), and there is no "hazing period" or rudeness tolerated. We also have superior bandwidth and response times on our 502g superfibre network as well as a state-of-the-art virtual blade server farm with 5000 terabytes of virtual disk space for your photos, blogs etc. It may take a small amount of getting used to, as we do have reasonable standards as far as language and image posting that are strictly enforced. The registration is easy and painless, and the rules will be explained in detail during the process. I will warn you however up front that registering an ALIAS is strictly "VERBOTEN", and something we have zero-tolerance with. If you are tired of the juvenile goings-on at TGR and Newschoolers and yearn for a snowriding forum that matches your maturity level, all I can say is: "Come join the fun"!

i know exactly what would happen, the gsa would see the sticker first then look up to see my frosty mug so stoked to be there, he could only grin back and recognize the freshies we just ripped on my humble little mountain. when he asks where we are i will proclaim Alpental my friend.

You are right, Philth. If he is a sales trader, he has put up with worse than this thread, that is for sure.

Oh fuck, to say this thread delivers is just such a god damned understatement. A motherfucking screenplay could be written based on this. It just keeps simmering and then boiling and yet I feel deep inside that the climax has not arrived, the shark hasn't been totally jumped. The feel good movie of the decade's conclusion would no doubt be the GSA accepting his seat as King. The man came, the spirit saw, and the king conquered.

Please GSA, save my faith in anything left in this world that is righteous and good. Please take thy throne for the power and the glory are yours!

This thread is not bullying. Bullying is when someone threatens to kick your ass for your lunch money. A few of the comments on page one were assholish. But the rest of the thread has been like an SNL parody. Kind of like the Blues Brothers was a parody on blues and then the joke evolved to another level. Now Dan Aykroyd owns House of Blues and takes it seriously. I had my reservations about contributing to this thread but the multiple appearances everywhere made me a believer. And as a believer I will offer an open invite to show him around the Washington ski areas if he is interested. He is a celebrity now in our community wether he likes it or not. Not that he needs money but I would even buy him a day of heliskiing in North Cascades or Whistler if he is into it. Frankly this thread has been so much entertainment I would be getting away cheap. I bet there are plenty of Mags that would clammer to join in battle mode with the GSA for a day. For me it has been more about laughing with him as apposed to at him as I was at one time just like him less harness and Go Pros. If you are going over the top like that you are going to get attention. You can't control wether or not it is positive or negative. I am sure he can deal with it.

    Believe.

Those are the words on the sticker on my Yakama box.

    Not negative, but positive.

The naysayers do not understand, they may never. For what started at a mere gape at a gaper, ended with a resounding crescendo when the GSA made it to Alaska.

I feel strange sometimes working out wearing a Speedo while doing laps a the local pool (attire I might add is completely appropriate for the activity), while the GSA treaded with full backcountry gear on a treadmill at his gym. This IS the definition of Spirit and Commitment towards a goal. He accomplished his. My wife had learned of this thread through me. She made it through a 5 mile treadmill workout the other day thinking of the GSA and his spirit and commitment. He is an inspiration to everyone. Believe.

In terms of behavior worthy of mocking, the GSA is an amateur.

I was watching this clip the other day and when I got to the white guys in mullets reggae dancing @2:40 it was like looking in a mirror of myself from the 80's. The embarrassing behavior continues to this day.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZewvs_c5OE
    (what happened to embedding video?)

Of course I have been mocked, but never on the scale that the GSA has been mocked for much less mock-worthy behavior than my own. Huh; I guess I kind of feel bad for the guy.

In return for all the lutz I've had at the GSA's expense I would be willing to contribute $10 towards the purchase of a pair of Splat's finest skis, or better yet one of Zudnick's off-spring to gift to the GSA to accompany him on his fantastic exploits.

If I can afford $10 for believe stickers, I can certainly afford another $10 for this...

Hmm, on second thought this guy probably wouldn't appreciate skis or a dog of PM's or Zudnick's caliber.

OTOH, it wouldn't be the first time someone was outclassed by their equipment or their dog.

Sweet. Now I know what to do if I ever get preggers.

Back on topic, I really do hope the amazing GSA does grace us with his presence. I would really like to learn his ways, so I too can visit multiple powder meccas every season. Getting a better paying job is probably step one.
