bump this up as i'm looking for something in this size. alot of park/pipe skis can fit in these dimensions but generally have the added weight for burl. i was late hopping on a deal from a mag on a pr of moment rocker 114/92/114 and a descent wieght. like Hohes, i want something good in variable conditions so rocker and not too much sidecut. hopefully fairly short (165-170) as i'll use it for longer trips and a spring steep or 3. another i looked at was the liberty antigen albeit a lil narrower at 88 in the waist. i should bump the spring SAC ski sale thread as well, if and when they have it. they had salomon sentinels at a good price last yr. never been a solly ski fan. i wonder how the sentinel skis?

Hope you find em, Grinch.
I forgot to add that slightly turned up tails is ok, but twin tips is not. For reference, W112's have too much of a twin for me in variable snow. I swear I can feel the turned up tail hooking under mank and crust and grabbing on variable. And constant terrain work with twins is a slight added hassle.
At this point I'm probably going to buy some second hand Dynafits (in a country with no second hand market) and put them on my beat Manaslus.

I was gonna say Rossi B4 except for the twin thingy - they're not THAT twinned by today's standards though. Soft enough shovel to not need the rocker. A great ski IMHO
... jfost is really ignorant, he often just needs simple facts laid out for him...

^^ good pt. a slight raise would be sufficient for a little sliding backwards when necessary rather than the full twin that might be catchy in the variable. never noticed that but makes sense. i've been looking for awhile today. i guess that requirement takes the moment tahoe out of play then. i also got on to teton skis. the floater rocker for $144 on "the house". sounds risky for a steep ski. what could possibly go wrong?

Hohes, KoM and I recently switched to the k2 Wayback to do what you are describing. I think it is a 23m radius in the longer 181. It was the ski of choice in Antarctica and we had every kind of snow possible in a given day. KoM is also a lover of big traverses and they have his seal of approval for that. Both of us bought ours from Rappies so he does (or did) carry them. I also have G3 Barons drilled for Dynafit with skins if interested but they don't have rocker (and I don't know the radius but I remember it being a bit tight).

Yes, I've been looking at them, but may as well keep my 08/09 Manaslu's in that case. Saves me buying another set of skins, and lets me wait another year to see what better skis come out. Because they keep getting better.
Is KOM still in Japan? He does some solid backcountry in spring.

KoM is still in Japan and likely to continue his tradition of solid spring bc. Stay tuned

Rad. He's the man.
I've got myself all ramped up for a certain spot elsewhere in Japan, but damned if I can find a solid 6 day run with no 'interruptions'. For a guy who quit his job, I sure seem locked into other people's agendas these days....Last edited by neck beard; 03-06-2012 at 04:29 AM.

Went in to pick them up tonight from the shop now that our season has gone to utter shit. And of course, they just sold.
The only reason they sold was because I decided to keep them.
And so I am without spring touring skis. Before I was kind of relaxed knowing (thinking) that my 'slus were there for me. Now I am kind of feeling worried.
Got no spring skis, got 3 month left to ski...Last edited by neck beard; 03-07-2012 at 04:46 AM.

Not that skiing is like being a woman and snowboarding like being a man. But, if it were, then splitboarding would be like cross-dressing.
I have two unsold frocks and wigs in my basement.
I'm not a cross dresser. I want to be on two sticks all the time.
Would I benefit from another analogy?

i'm still looking too. i guess it was "caucasian asian" who suggested the faction agent 90. looks like it fits your specs. also looking at line prophet 90. both rockered tip and flatter tails. http://www.backcountryfreeskier.com/...0-stp-ski.html .sounds like mtskier is willing to deal http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...gear-We-got-it. here's a possible deal on the prophet i might pull the trigger on .linked from "wicked sick" s thread but the radius might be too short for your specs. great deal though http://www.shop-task.com/LINE_Prophe...prophet-90.htm

G3 Spitfire LT. 89mm, 25m @184, just under 7lb/pair, trad camber. But I find a little tip rocker can be overrated especially in a corn/crust ski. Or at least negotiable.
I personally find G3 skis to be a bit "vanilla" but that is what I want in a mtneering ski. Straight flipping vanilla. No surprises.
I am laying it down for a pair of 170s in two days.

I was looking for a similar ski and ran across this blog entry from Off Piste Mag
http://www.offpistemag.com/permalink.asp?id=626
La Sportiva Lo5 for 2012/13: 125/95/115; Lengths: 168, 178, 188; Weight: 2.9 kg / 6.4 lb; Rocker: tip
Not sure of the exact radius (probably under 25 m however) but this thing looks promising. May have to wait until next year.

I was about to sell my g3 barons with skins at Rappies, if interested. No binders but drilled for dynafit (315? mm boot).

Did the PM gear still make the Bro in 183cm / 99mm? Didnt they at least use to do it, or have I been inhaling fumes too long?
That with carbon = Mmmmhh....

I just took my Wailer112's on a 17km traverse with a 600m climb and 1700m descent of shiny refreeze runnel ice and unholy slush.
Banged it out in a solo record time as well.

Pics or it didn't happen.
High point, could hardly get my poles into the 'snow'.
Low point, slushy, dirty dirty girls.

Stunts: I'll research that G3 ski tomorrow. Thanks for mentioning it.
Grinch and others: that Faction ski looks ok. Light! Looking more at it.
179 Bros - closer to perfect, but out of stock. And amongst the rather gushing wall of text that is a spec sheet, there is no weight provided. Also expensive and possibly too wide. But sounds a lot like my shitty Atomic SD's, so I have a natural attraction to the Bro. 179 is ok length for me.
La Sportiva - unfortunately next years gear. This power needs a ski today.
Thanks for everyone's input. I'm sure other ski searchers are benefiting as well, but in return I'll give you a picture of frozen solid steepness from today's views. Fucking rain:

Atomic Drifter? in a 182?
spot on save for the turn radius. Seen them on Eghey and a few other places for reasonable coin.
