Or something near those specs in a 175-180. Closer to 30m radius is perhaps even better.

Gotta be durable. Will not be used inbounds, only touring with lots of long traverses and terrain work well into the melt.

I've got no spring sticks at all right now and have another 60 days on snow (or more) to love skiing before I'm forced to be done for the season. A lot of it will be skiing mountain-variable and corn.

Either I buy something rad that I can't afford. Or get my Manaslu's back out of the shop where they are gathering dust on consignment*. Or use an old pair of 172 Sugar Daddies (which now seem heavy and are my November rock skis).

*does the Radical drill pattern match the old 'slu insert pattern?

181 K2 Hardside? Maybe a little on the heavy side, but can be found for cheap.

Atomic Theory maybe? seems to be right up your alley; rockered tip, fairly burly, 95mm underfoot, hybrid cap and vertical sidewall construction.

How about a 179 Bro? It seems to fit most of your criteria (if you go with the 30m radius) and there are often pairs kicking around here.

No tip rocker, but I like the 177 Volkl Nanuq - super edgehold, very precise ski.

If you used the smaller set of holes on the Manaslu, you can use the more forward set of two for the Radical pattern, if you are in the larger set you will have to drill the two forward holes.

I've been using the 175 kilowatt for a few years, and have been pleased. I'd like the same/similar ski but with some tip rocker (W99 maybe), until I find it I'll keep dripping ptex in all the core shots I keep getting. There's a new BD ski that has exactly the dimensions I want, only problem is it's a noodle.

dps w99. awsome spring touring ski, IMO.

oops, just read, the w99s only have 18m turn radius, thought it was bigger. other than that, I think they're still awsome, though.

I have these and I'm not sure I agree with the 105mm width as a true spring slayer of hard refrozen snow, there also isn't much if any tip rocker to these. I can verify that they kick ass as rando racing sticks though.

Thanks for the good suggestions. Some close, but small turn radius or a touch too heavy = I may as well just stay with my 09/10 Manaslu's. They've had 100 days on them and will probably take more. Looked at the W99, but small turn radius + average skier = I dance the funky chicken in variable alpine conditions. I don't need a resort-carver sized radius.

I've always felt great on the old Sugar Daddies for radius, and have been looking at similar PMG skis....

Other suggestions are close, but no tip rocker, so again, may as well just continue with the Manaslu's until the perfect ski comes along.

Perhaps the Vector, been going back to this ski a bit, but... 21m radius...

Obviously I am the odd guy out who has it all wrong as most candidate skis seem to be in the 19-21m radius. Perhaps I need to review my 25m+ in a 180cm ski requirement?

Rossi S3 fits the bill for everything you seek, except I don't know what it weighs. Love mine though.

98mm, 23m radius, rocker, is about as close as you are going to get I think.

195 Ak rocket swallowtail, the blackishpurple wood core ones. Mounted once with small dukes so that a 295 bsl is on the line. Skis and bindings were both new when mounted, and have since been used touring in good coverage for about 15 days, and in bounds skiing mostly groomers for i think two days. There is a bit of rust on the edges, I took it off a while ago but theres a slight amount of pitting, I can take pics, I'm not sure how well it will show but its pretty slight.

Its a sad story, a great setup has gone mostly unused for a long time due to the fact that I got coombas not too long after these for tighter baccountry terrain and shittier snow, but found for my backcountry needs the smaller lighter shorter coombas is all I needfor backcountry. I have 4 other skis mounted with pivots for resort skiing and have access to a few others to borrow so the rockets just dont see much love any more. I got the skis for a pretty damn good deal from marshalolson because he had the strange idea that he owed me somehow after I sold him a pair of beatup m103s with a big ass delam for something like $75, so the price pretty much just reflects the price for like new dukes.

I's funny, Pat was trying to talk me into a 187 Fat BRO, and I replied along the lines of I'd rather have a 95mm BRO with an early rise tip. This is for an everyday work ski, BTW.

I feel like a 185-190cm x 95mm underfoot, 25-30m radius, small bit of early rise, and durable construction would be an awesome working, beating around the mountain ski. Not to mention it would probably be a great touring ski also for anything less than those bottomless days - Spring corn anyone? I have a pair of 191 Lhasas and a pair of 188 Bros, and I can see a hole in my quiver.

I dunno. I feel like the Lhasa has too many compromises to be an all rounder, and I can't see going to 95mm for that shape. It shines as a powder ski, and I don't think that would be a fun combo.

Have you looked at the G3 Saint? Just picked up a pair myself sight unseen. Hopefully I like 'em.

Remember with a rockered ski you might have a less ski in contact on firm snow, so the radius might 'feel' bigger.

Hohes - you are describing the exact ski I want for hard snow skiing on mount washington. I was thinking of around 90 for a waist though. I talked briefly about it with Weasel and TC.
