How can a software purchase be backordered?

Anyone hear about the timing of this backorder? I want to work on a handful of images, but I kinda was hoping to have this before I started going through everything again.

edit, just checked again this am and it said: being prepared for shipping, then I refreshed and it said shipped...

Guess I should have just waited another 15 seconds

The original link still works and says Feb 24th.

Showing it in stock today so hopefully showing up soon.

I got mine yesterday and loaded it up last night.... now to find the time to use it is another story.

Lightroom 4 was released today. And they dumped it down to $149!

Maybe reading the whole freaking article I posted would have been advised. I'm a dumbass sometimes.

Just today, I received a free upgrade from Adobe from LR3 to LR4. They have a policy where if you purchase a product and within x number of days, a new version comes out they upgrade you for free. I thought there would be little chance of them honoring it for me since LR3 was only $69 when I purchased it at B&H on sale, but they did.

Just thought I would let others know in case they took advantage of the LR3 deal.

How did that happen? Did you contact them directly?
