At this point I'm not sure anyone cares. I know I don't, and Andy does not want the title.

These investigations are a waste of money if you ask me.

Damn...I was hoping these 2 would get together again...

Decent people shouldn't live here...they'd be happier somewhere else.

"I battled with Contador in that race and I lost. My goal is to win the Tour de France in a sporting way, being the best of all competitors, not in court." - Schleck

= I doped too and I still didn't beat him.

Contador is a great rider but stinks of douche for attacking when Andy dropped his chain. I am still in disbelief that they ruled against him.

Amazing that his "two year" ban will be up this August.

i wonder how smug armstrong is right now

off of the feds fraud investigation & bertie gets a 2yr decision

all he has to worry about is the doping charge itself for which there is apparently no evidence
go ahead and huck the cornice anywhere!

The sport has become like professional wrestling. It's redikulous.

It's what happens when a sport tried hard to compete on a level playing field. It's ugly, because it's so pervasive. As AKPM suggests, this is not something that any other big money sport wants to do.

Except that Schleck took advantage of Contador being involved in a crash on an earlier stage during that tour. Finally he just reaped what he saw himself before.

Bummer these two won't compete head to head this year though.

its not that I condone doping, but this shit is getting fucking ridiculous seriously... Where the fuck is the line?

the cyclists competing should decide for themselves what the level playing field is, not some fucking court. I mean the dope they use is probably way better for the body than an average fast food cheeseburger.

^ Agreed. The Tour should test for trans-fat instead.

Do you try to be stupid or does it just come naturally?

What's stupid? These guys and their doped up bodies are, without a doubt, healthier than your average American. And, clearly testing, banning, etc. isn't doing shit. Let the fuckers dope their brains out. It would make for more interesting races. You can't tell me watching Floyd blow the doors off everybody in 2006 wasn't exciting.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

one test out of hundreds can fuck up a rider's career... That's kinda messed up.

Except the Belgians blood turning to sludge or 45 yr olds having heart attacks...... just google the 1984 olympic cycling team. Blood doping is anything but safe and healthy.

I would agree with you in that riders today are much more informed about how to dope so as to avoid dying. If you look back at the history of endurance sports, you'll see that it's riddled with unexplained (read doping-related) deaths. In the past 5 years or so, those numbers have gone down. So that's an argument FOR doping. However, not everyone reacts the same way to PED's. Furthermore, those with the deepest pockets will have access to the best programs and the best/newest drugs. This doesn't help those who are trying to get into the sport. Afterall, in Yurp bike racing is blue collar all the way. Most guys are using it to rise up. So the playing field isn't as level as it may seem.

"Find" the words death, dead, or died on this page. Scary.

I think the real problem is they will all do exactly that. Moderate doping is probably very safe when medically supervised, but there is big money, fame, glory and careers on the line for these guys and they will push it as far as they can. The human body body was not meant to be tuned to the bleeding edge like an F1 engine.
