Those XT brakes are pretty solid, and less prone to heating up than the Codes for sure. If your a bigger rider i would recommend getting the saints...totally worth the extra coin.

Any update on this thread Big E? I recently put Saints on my DH bike and I've been blown away. I want to upgrade my brakes on my trail bike, and thinking of going with the XT's. Have you been happy with them

I'm about to throw some new XTs on my dh bike to replace last year's saints.
STRAVA: Enabling dorks everywhere to get trails shut down........ all for the sake of a race on the internet.

SLX M666 for the win.

Same weight at XT, cheaper, and have more power. It's the power of using 666 in the name.

Update: I'm fat.
So, I just got back from Peru and have some observations to report. While the Ones have been awesome for the past few months on most of the rides I do, they don't stand up to fatasses on obscenely long descents. We rode Olleros on day 2, which is one of the longest downhills in the world with 11,000' of descending. About half way down, it got pretty loose; and since it was my first time down and I didn't know the trail, I was on my brakes a bit more than usual. The Ones didn't hold up for me. They were fine for lph, but mine were screaming in agony. Which really didn't help while I was trying to slow down before popping over a couple of water pipes...1st one...check...2nd one...sumo crush. What pisses me off is the fact that the little voice in my head told me to switch to the Gustavs the night before but I didn't listen. Switched brakes that night, did another huge descent the next day, and the Gustavs didn't even break a sweat.
So bottom line, the Ones are really good for most of the riding I do. But they're not quite up to snuff for me. I'm going to try to get my hands on the new Saints when they're available."I knew in an instant that the three dollars I had spent on wine would not go to waste."
