HVX200 Front Element Replacement. AKA I think we're screwed
Long story short, we were shooting some follow cams with our HVX the other day, and caught a small rock or piece of ice to the lens (yeah, we should have had a UV filter on, we know
) which caused a very small chip on the front element. The problem is, it's in the center of the lens, and noticeable in every shot.
Local camera and glass places say they can't repair a chip, so we're looking for replacements. Panasonic support has been unhelpful to this point, and other shop's prices are more than it would cost to replace the entire thing.
So, any mags have one of these lying around they'd part out to us? Know anywhere we can get it fixed around the Mountain West for under $1k?Rider driven since '02.

What do you mean "unhelpful?" Did you go through this portal? http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-e...t/Contact-Us.4
Just plugged in the Sandy, UT Zip Code and they came up with only CA-based authorized service centers. You Want one of these guys to do the repair:
My Bro-in-Law uses VideClinic all the time (he's in the Film industry) so you have at least one recommendation for themThe model AGHVX200 may be serviced at one of the following Panasonic Authorized Service Centers. Click on the Name to display a map of the location.
Name Address City State Zip Phone Dist.
(Miles)
DIGITRON ELECTRONICS 7801 E. TELEGRAPH ROAD MONTEBELLO CA 90640 (323) 887-0777 577
PANASONIC - PBTSC SERVICE 3330 CAHUENGA BLVD WEST LOS ANGELES CA 90068 (323) 436-3507 579
THE VIDEO CLINIC INC 2307 WILSHIRE BLVD. SANTA MONICA CA 90403 (310) 828-6464 590
Don't cheap out on this. A couple hundred dollars is worth saving a $3k camera, and if you use their authorized service centers then they'll keep fixing it until it's right... shit, they're far more likely to do it right the first time.

Thanks. Spent the morning on the phone with Panasonic, and between being on hold and getting hung up on, they only found us one place in Texas.
I'll call those Cali shops. Thanks for the info.Rider driven since '02.

Yeah that's horseshit, it happens pretty frequently and i know for a fact you can get them replaced through panasonic.
Good luck with the mess they're making of themselves.
