Uh...suck a dick? Measure what? I'm not gonna type out exactly how we do mounts but the challenges I'm referring to have nothing to do with measuring. What do you measure besides the the midsole mark? Riddle me this Mr. Binding Guy. Customer comes in with his kid's ski. He wants to be mounted "forward one inch" and want the heel track slid forward to accomodate a bigger boot. Oh...he's in a kids ski with an adult binding. And the binding is in a bag. See any opportunity for a "mis-mount"? How much service do you expect for $45?

dudeski-
send me a PM, I'll do my best to help you get sorted out. At worst, you'll buy a drill and re-mount them back or forward a bit. I don't think it will come to that.
take a look at this youtube:

At least without the plates, dynafit toes need a little fiddling, which is accomplished by putting the boot in and then tightening the screws in the right order, to be aligned properly. There's simply a 1/32" or whatnot of wiggle room, which can throw the angle off enough that the heel won't work unless you align it when you tighten the screws.
Jondrums: To what extent is that also the case when bolting up to the plates? I know they are machined, but I don't know how much room you have in the screw heads. I'd suspect you left room there, otherwise the plate would need to be aligned with the dynafit in place, right?

There is more wiggle room with plates or inserts than with traditional mounting simply because the outside diameter of the machine screw is narrower than that of the stock wood screws. I suspect the OP followed my advice and feels silly for tripping out and posting this in the wrong forum.

So I tried loosening the front screws and then aligning the boot before I tightened them back down. This did not solve the problem. I don't think that there is any play since the screws go directly into aluminum plates. I will bring them into the shop and see what can be done and then reevaluate I guess.
The point of this thread was not to rant about the bad mount, it was to find a solution. Either in a way to fix it or what to expect from the shop. So I posted in the wrong forum BFD. I was seeking knowledge... 90% of the replies on this thread have absolutely NO knowledge. The bottom line is that there is a problem with my binding. If you want to rip on me for not doing it myself at least put some meaningful advice in your post. Otherwise, you are just as much of a "spammer" as Alpine Greg.
A word for the spammers:
If I pay someone to do something I expect them to do it right. If you don't do it right than it is your responsibility as a business owner to make your customer happy. This applies to all businesses. It would be pretty funny to see some of you run a business. Customer walks in with a legitimate complaint and you tell them to go fuck themselves? How long do you think it would be before word traveled and people started going to the shop next door instead of yours?
Or even worse: having a bunch of workers like this guy? I bet business would be booming.
JONG @ Life:
I hope you do. I will show you the difference between the internet and real life. Punk.

Dudeski:
What you need to realize is that there are countless threads around here about botched mounts, and that's why we're always trying to get people to do their own if you want it done right.
You do have a reasonable expectation for it to be done right since you paid for it, but shit goes wrong a lot and some shops don't deal with requests to rectify the situation very well (and some customers don't request reasonable things).
So, there is a LOT of information in here, but a lot of it isn't what you asked for. Don't get butt-hurt about it and don't threaten people over the interwebz... it sounds dumb.

The play shouldn't be between the screws and the plate, but between the screws and the toe piece of the binding. This:
is the correct procedure. If you can't get the boot to line up with the screws loose then you may need to either align the plates in a similar manner or remount the plates. However make sure that you convince yourself that it's not just the dynafit toe piece first. They don't call them dynafiddles for no reason.
BTW, no one is asserting that you don't have a bad mount, we're just trying to give you quick stuff to try before remounting. FWIW, the first time I ever mounted a dynafit I didn't follow the aligning and tightening sequence. I was convinced that I had botched both skis when they were in fact just fine.

After burning down the shop I'd prolly grab a #3 posi-drive from the ashes, remove the screws from the crooked plate, find the two or three holes that align the plate properly, tighten those down, and lastly slowly tighten the crooked screw(s) at the angle it wants to go in. Not rocket surgery.

I will say it again, instead of crying like a little bitch to strangers on the internet, seek to resolve your problem with the people you feel have let you down. Direct verbal communication- what a concept!
I am sure they would like to know about this and rectify it.
To those taken in by Greg at AZ---- You should really take a long hard look at your ability to recognize humor, it amazes me how he gets people every time.
EVERY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Back to the OP- I am in tram line every day, so one day I will just simply call you a pussy to your face when I see your DPS's with orange plates, been looking the last couple days.
