The thought of a tour version of the BG makes my shorts extra tight.

Looking forward to BG rocker profile pics!
~30m radius = muy bueno. If they are not too rockered (i.e. flattish underfoot) I can see a pair in my future.

thanks for responding, powtron. i only complain cause after tip dumping hellbents(189) and praxis powderboards(195) i have somewhat of a specific shape in my head ive been drooling over. on3p just happens to come closest to making that reality.

sorry, i meant camber profile. i'd love to see a c+d with a slightly lowered forebody, maybe .75cm at the wide point of the ski (but still starting underfoot) and from the fattest point forward a mellow renegade/double helixish tip to the end. i dont need a ton more splay, just a nice smooth upturned tip to get me over the roots, stumps and death cookies. like somewhere between a L138 and the current C+D maybe? how about some 3d rocker in there as well, while i'm dreaming? keep the base flat underfoot, then taper out to a mild curve in the tip?
keep in mind i haven't actually skied the c+d, so i could definitely be talking out my ass. maybe i should just shut up and go to bed.step off the A, bro.

I think some of the stuff you mention are already in the C&D...just may not be marketed how you are looking for it
.
Go ski it if you can, for sure. The prototype for last year (2012 Model) started out with a lower forebody and a more mellow tip. It actually skied worse and dove under the snow more than the current 2012 and 2013 models. I think the rocker profile display diagram in the brochure and on the website is a little misleading for the numbers and measurements we used on it.
Where are you located? Maybe there is a pair around that you could try?Music: http://soundcloud.com/powtron

The topsheets touch my face. What's the + and if any - from the 11/12?

Stopped by the shop today and picked up the new "tour" Billy Goats to demo. So hot. I will almost certainly be the worst skier to ski them thus far.

Thanks!
191?
Looks like no more camber but still a fairly flat contact length?
-

Yeah, 191s. Rowen was saying the new rocker shape means the effective running length is a few centimeters longer now. He showed me the previous generation side by side, and it's a subtle but distinct difference. Definitely pretty flat underfoot.

We're going to hold off on weighing the tours until we have a few more pairs in stock, our core weights for the first few SIA sets were drastically different, and the production tours will have UHMW sidewalls to boot. I'm fairly confident where they'll end up in weight, but no numbers yet till I'm absolutely sure.
2011/2012 BG vs 2012/2013 BG
New Reverse Elliptical Sidecut on all sizes. Basically, its a classical pintailed ski in the tail, but then reverse sidecut in the tip, in an ellipse so theres a contact region out in the tip. You get grip in the tail, then a point in the tip when its on edge and in hard snow. More tip rocker, less tail rocker (slightly anyways), and 191 proportions have been sized down to the 186, 176 and new 166cm sizes.
The new ones haul. I'd maybe go for the current 186 if I was skiing a ton of trees or wanted a very turny tele ski at my size, but the new shape is very much better on hardpack than the old version, and the Reverse Elliptical Sidecut is all the surfeyness you expect in pow, such a crazy good combo.

With the Tours, we are testing 3 different layups right now and I was able to make some more composite contacts at SIA, so I've got some more carbon samples coming in so I expect to have another few layups to try before we decide on what we like best.
The tour I was skiing the other day was around 230 grams lighter per ski vs the stock, though with the new carbon we are getting I am going to consider trying to lighten the stock pair up more as well. Once we get through the mission ridge demo early next week, I will post a lot more about next year's line.
