Help I can't feel my feet!
My feet have been numb since December 9th. That was the day I tried my new boots. I have had a lot of problems with my feet. I have really flat feet. My feet spread like a pancake once I stand on them. I had my old boots blow out. Plus custom footbeds. I have not worn my new boots since. Tecnica Rival RX Hotforms
They are numb mainly on the balls of my feet and the toes. I have went to two different doctors. The first doctor said that I had Mortons Neuroma and, that it would go away if I took Ibuprofen for two weeks 800mg a day. Well two weeks later and 11200mg later my feet are still numb. So I went to my other doctor Wednesday, and he said that the numbness will go away once I quit skiing for a while. The second doctor told me that once I quit skiing the numbess should go away. I am not going to quit skiing mid season.
Anybody got any ideas to make the numbness go away.

Basically what happens when the arch formed by the 5 metatarsals in your foot (the arch just behind your toes) flattens it pinches in on the nerves between the bones causing the numbness. Now just because you have custom footbeds does not mean that the metatarsal arch is being supported properly.
Go back to where you got your foot beds or find an ATC or PT and ask them to put a metatarsal cookie in your footbed to support the metatarsal arch. By doing this you will lift the arch and relieve some of the pressure on the nerves, hopefully reducing or eliminating the numbness.

Thanks for the advice Vinman. I will be seeing a PT in the near future.
