Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich blasted the Justice Department for blocking a South Carolina voter identification law and suggested the Obama administration wants to “steal elections.”

During a campaign stop in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the former House speaker questioned why Attorney General Eric Holder is “so determined not to identify if people are not eligible to vote”

Gingrich went on to say that, “you have to ask, why is it that they are desperate to retain the ability to steal elections and I think that’s what it comes down to.”


Hey lefties, why is it so unreasonable for a voter to identify him/her self as an eligible voter?

Elections are run by states. Each state should decide what ID they want to accept. Big Brther does not need put his "mark" on every legal citizen.

I already offered you the agreement that every person legally in this country should have a photo ID and am fine with it issued by States instead of the Feds.

Large segments of this country don't have a photo ID because they don't drive, my mother included. They live on fixed incomes and are of modest means so spending the money to aquire a photo ID represents a true hardship.

And like my mother many would vote for anyone BUT Obama but because of stupid people like Newt Gingrich they will not be able to vote.

In my opinion, every legal citizen should be required to vote if they want to have any of the benefits of our society including SS, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, a Drivers license etc.

You know there are plenty of people in the U.S. without the type of 'valid I.D.' that would be required?
