My oldest is officially a padded seats rider with a couple Nash laps under her belt.

We did NASTAR this weekend with my 6 year old grommette. She had never "raced" before. She LOVED it and killed, 4 "races" with 2 gold and 2 silver. Guess I have to look into ski racing.

I had an amazing day today watching Owen be Owen. Last night while I was breaking down gear from the weekend and getting ready for the work week I was watching it snow and decided to pull Owen out of school to bring him up to work with me. About that time I got a reminder of an open mic in Columbia hosted by a friend. Plan made.

Today was one of the best ski days of one of the best seasons people can remember. I saw a ton of local folks out and about. Things actually got tracked out in places today. It was very fun to see so many good friends out today.

Owen was out killing it with a variety of ski buddies. He got first chair on 3 and 7 and we took a lap together then he was gone. He kept checking in and I kept hearing stories from around the mountain that he was going off.

Then we went to the open mic at St Charles Saloon in Columbia where he played and sang a few solo tunes, then had the chance to jam with friends. He really performed well both in his two solo sets and standing up with the boys. He was very happy to get that chance.

    Proud papa right here.

Kid and Dad ski choices today.

That's so cool! Wish I'd learned to play as a kid starting at 35 has benefits too though.

My 7 year old refuses to ski the middle of the run and is always looking for something to jump off of. It took him no time to eye this up at Bolton:

There was also a LOT of this. I am tempted to turn up his bindings a little, but he's always doing dumb shit.

    But he's quickly getting it.
