Young Owen 64th SuperG and 49th Slalom at Mammoth Far West Championships. Not bad for a little kid from a little ski area.

    3rd overall for Central Series.

You really like this photo because it shows a lot of water suspension, bad ski parenting, and underwater terraining.

Underwater terraining. That is funny. Hopefully not too soon to work on his float. PSIA probably frowns on this.

    Nice pics, Bobby.

Couldn't make it to the hill today, so we jibbed the backyard instead. Thing 1 barely hanging on to his first sideways slide.

seven years ago i was as likely to be dead as alive by age 50. now i'm 50 and waxing for the first time the skis of the five year old who loves me more than anybody ever has.

life is strange and occasionally, unexpectedly, exquisitely generous.

Foggiest day I have ever skied in was last Saturday. You couldn't see the chair in front of you. Snow was great. I called it a day around 1:00pm. This crew stayed out (from first) to last chair. Much fun was had!

Mini Comish and I were at Squaw for U-10 Champs this past weekend. Pretty tough when your the little first year from the beach and your competition has last names like Rahlves, Moseley, Standteiner...

6th in Skills Quest and 29th in the Big G (mini Super G) were his best results.

Saturday Mini Comish had a rippin 1st slalom run putting him in 25th and within striking distance for a top 15 so he was pumped. 2nd run doesn't go so well and gets bucked by a rut from the 1st run and ends up doing a 360 around a gate and comes through the finish line in tears. He was soo pissed. After a while asked how he wanted to get over it and he said, go ski KT. Yeah! As a ski dad I was loving that response. We take 3 runs down cut up pow on Rock Garden and he was happy again. He asks if we can go over to awards even though they should be done. We roll up and they have finished the slalom awards, but start the awards for the Skills Quest from Thursday, and he gets 6th putting him up on the awards stage! From tears to stoked in 1 hour, but skiing KT for the love of it was the highlight for Comish!
He who has the most fun wins!

After the Big G we did the short hike from Siberia to Headwall, since Squaw couldn't figure out how to open the chair, to snag a bit of heavy cream cheese pow.
