Yep, I'm a dumbass.

I agreed to purchase a pair of boots from a low-post user. But that's not why I'm a dumbass.
He suggested half payment up front, and final payment after I receiving a tracking number. I thought this was a good idea, so I went for it. Both payments were bank transfers, not Paypal. Text messages were exchanged.
First payment sent, got a tracking number, and sent the remainder of the the money.


About a week later I get an email confirmation that the money had been received. Then I get a message asking about the amount I sent.

Hey, can you check your bank records, I think you sent me too much money.

Oh shite. I log in to my bank and look at my e-transfers. Yup, I wasn't paying attention and sent a complete stranger $200 more than what we had agreed on.
I replied via text message about it, and he replied that as soon as he got back to work, he would take a look and send me the money back.

Today I got an email transfer from tobias and a message explaining the delay. He'd been busy at work, but still took time out to correct my dumbass mistake.


Thanks for being a maggot Tobias. This is why this place rocks.

I've luckily had nothing but good transactions here. It's like anything, few people give clout when things go right and we tend to hear when things go wrong. I have confidence with most of the people here in this community. It's a great exchange of good people on the most part!

I'm right there with you guys. Nice to see some positive stoke here. I've had some myself. markcjr was a newish guy who had some binders to sell. I was skeptical and said send 'em and I'll pay you when they get here. He did, and I did, a little bit more than agreed upon. I sent Vtdownhiller some lifters with the understanding he'd pay for shipping when they got there. I just got a paypal for double what shipping cost me. There are good people on this site. Nice to hear positive stories, and not just about the fucktards.

I too have had great transactions on this board. Twice I have bought things here where the person shipped the items before they received the money. While I certainly won't do this with everyone, I do like when this happens with people I know.

i've done numerous transactions for 5-6 bills all done on the honor system.
i've both given and recieved pre-pay / pre-ship.
not to mention getting/giving stuff for away free.

I'm a dumbass. I just accidentally bid FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS in an online auction. Yes, I won LOL. Was watching a lot of shades on Goodwill online because there was a sweet pair of Vuarnets there with 5 pairs of shades I had no interest in, Armani, Guess, other designer shit.

Anyway I bid $45 with 10 seconds to go.. You've been outbid.. So I tried to quickly bump it up to $50. but the keyboard entered 0s warrant showing up in the window.. So, of course I kept hitting 0.. Knowing time was running out I approved the submission right as I noticed it was fucked! What the hell did I just do? I ended up paying $160. DOH! Well, maybe the wife and daughter will like the designer shit.
