Found a GoPro at Bridger today. PM me with info about where you lost it so I can get it back to its owner.
Good skiing up there today but its getting difficult to ski to the upper parking lot.

Got the itch to go make a fire and sleep next to a stream on my days off this week. Took a long walk up a forgotten little drainage with some stuff to slide down the next day.

I would really like to put some tracks on this pretty face, but it was a bit chundered out and there was only a millimeter or two of fresh snow that far down the valley.

Looks fairly worthy. Maybe the homies will want to tag that one up one of these days.

Some other stuff to ski back there.

Not exactly the gnar but some smooth consistent slopes that don't get chundered too bad.

I have been daydreaming about volcanoes, so I figured I could pretend this was one. A whole centimeter of new snow up here! It actually skied really well where there wasn't debris.

My hopes of the "mostly sunny" forecast staying true and a possible two-for quickly evaporated in a matter of about 10 minutes.

Not a bad little snowcone to put some tracks down today, very carveable save for a few ice chunks to grab ones attention in the flat light. Tried to tag that other face too but the snow quickly greenhoused and went to sticky shit.

Nary a soul to keep one company back there this time of year, save for the ghosts of mining camps from century's long past.

Well sweet, with Montana spring in full swing now,, maybe there will be enough snow left when we finally get corn cycles again come July!

Definitely the best/ most exciting line I've skied to date. Hiked with our boots on our backs for maybe a mile and a half, skinned to the base and booted up this monster. Pinch at the very top where you had to jump turn over some rocks. About 4 inches of creamy soft snow on top of corn. Killer trip.

Hiked up Lone Peak on Saturday, fun scramble with the kids. When hiking down past the Triple I saw that it looked like some footings had been poured, but not much else going on. No chairs, poles, cables, or workers in sight. Challenger looked similarly inactive. When does this stuff need to be delivered in order to be installed by ski season? Anybody got an inside source who knows if things are on schedule?

^^^ A twin rotor Chinook was flying around Challenger about a month ago, I think it brought down the bull wheel and the old towers. I have also heard occational bombs going off in the bowl/triple area. Lots of new stuff (sheaves/towers/bull wheels) are staged in the overflow parking lot. But other than that, not much activity. If it is like other Boyne projects, work should begin in earnest about November 15th or so...

It was a concrete day yesterday up at Challenger. You must have been at work.

A Blackhawk Helo was being used for the bucket work, 1st time I have seen one of those used commercially.

Lift construction is sneaky work. You don't really see much progress until all of a sudden the pieces are all assembled and voila, a lift is born.

When the BB guys were installing the slushman's chair, I brought them huckleberries that I picked on the hike up. Smilin Steve talked about that for a couple years.

Putting in a chairlift has got to be one of the most satisfying jobs for a skier.

Anybody here know of any open rooms in Missoula that aren't posted on craigslist or willing to give me an extra hand in getting it? I've been trying to rent a room for 3 weeks using craigslist by August 1st(grad school start date) and have no luck so far. Everyone stops talking to me after they find out I'm not in town. I think I'll have to camp for a few days outside of town trying to get a room, does anybody have recommendations for free campgrounds, preferably with shade?
