Ski In Peace Mr. Fiengold.
Great Gallatin stoke, Tony! I had always wanted to explore those northern chutes. Looks like you even wrapped up to the summit! Only times I made it there were in August during snowstorms.

Emigrant last Saturday after our last storm. Just a trace of snow at the road, but 12-14" in the couloir.

The 8 days of upslope gloom left an amazing morning of snow, rime, and light in it's wake. Maybe even the best of the year, may 1st. We could have been even earlier. Still cold enough to kill my battery at that hour. I already miss the cold. I'm hopeful for another round of cold and pow on top of what we have!

Unrelated to skiing, but did anyone else hear Blixseth is still in jail, after a year, for contempt? How long will he hold out?

It's in the paper occasionally...basically, he appears to be guilty, the judge knows it and he's calling bullshit on all the "evidence" Blixseth turned over showing what he did with the money he got from selling the resorts against court orders.
Now, for you nostalgic types, make sure you set aside $300 to purchase your own Challenger or Triple chair.Last edited by yeahman; 05-06-2016 at 07:04 PM.

I can't seem to be able to upload any photos for whatever reason, but looks like a decent storm rolling in: http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/FXC/wxstory.php?wfo=tfx
If anyone is interested in skiing a bigger line Wednesday morning in the Crazies or around Big Sky let me know

Nice! This has been a great system. The statewide snowpack really needed a boost. I read that April melt-off was much greater than normal. Hope the moisture helps with that fire in Canada too. Don't need our air all smoky months before it's normally smoky, that is for sure.

Great to have such a deep powder day in May. I think Bridger also got more than a foot. Be careful out there, the snow was pretty heavy and touchy, and the steep stuff was sliding.

Hard to know what to say. The moisture of 2 oceans converged around a great low pressure center and was born a great spring storm in Central and Southwest Montana. It did it's thing over the course of 36hrs. and when all was said and done we had a great morning on some classic lines at the ski hill.
Let the ski dreams begin! Luckily most people are still asleep at this hour.
Pnut told me he was gonna make a sexy turn but he just straight pointed the whole thing. I think it's good!
The tracks (and slides) from yesterday are buried and it's all settled and buffed out!
a super gorgeous morning of the hero sparkle pow variety.
Matt getting on with the shred in his slice of heaven:
Good lord we got pounded!
Jupski's not about to let that pow shred itself!
I'd say the hippie marked that up awful nice.
Second season, full on.
It was a privledge to shred some classics in their prime with the homies, and always fun to create and geek out on some ski imagery.
Gotta love the ol' squiggley lines on a sexy mountainside, I'll take it anytime anywhere I can get it!
Thank you guys, I will remember that as more than just one left turn for a long time."The skis just popped me up out of the snow and I went screaming down the hill on a high better than any heroin junkie." She Ra

I was just starting up Bradley's when I got to watch a couple guys rip hidden the right way. Awesome day! Ramp and wolverine were sweet.
Things are looking sweet out there. It was also nice to see some solid fluid tracks down the fourth.

So much fun. The kind of snow where turning was just for changing the direction you were pointing it! Ski dreams came to an abrupt end the way good dreams usually do when the next day, nest and I got to learn how to ski breakable crust without dying out in the Spanish Peaks. Turns out the classic snowplow a.k.a. pizza is the best tool for the job!
