16" of fresh and fun terrain, I'd stick near home as well.

Loving the Snowbowl pics Norse. Fresh tracks in the meadows are the best. Poached the Hourglass once, they really should open that shit up, wtf.

Should be a great day for pictures in the sun! The temperature is -4*F at the moment.

Great pics Swimmy. Takes a lot of self control by both photog and skier to want to slow down to set up for pics on days when the skiing is that good! In a former life I used to do a lot of that sort of thing, stopping in the middle of what would otherwise be a perfect run........frantically rip camera out, shoot, stash camera, ski. Or trying to skin ahead of the group for the same.

OG mag Gnarwhale was one of the best photogs I've ever skied with both in his artistic ability, but also in his ability to not slow the group down.

Wife's birthday today and she wanted to nordork 12k from Lone Mountain Ranch to Lone Moose lift and back, to complete her goal of skiing every trail at LMR. Beautiful day, awesome trails, and we saw several moose. They really should be opening Lone Moose lift...

I'll be at big sky tomorrow and Monday.. Orange pants grey jacket, green boots. Likely skiing solo or with my wife all in people and daughter all in pink with a tootoo on as it's her birthday.

I won't hold anyone up, ask for changes and if love to hit a lap with some locals.

Great pictures of the quiet side of Big Sky! The Lone Moose lift has a drive that works now without going into an uncontrolled over speed condition and letting smoke out of the control boards. A load test needs to happen before the public can load Lone Moose, hopefully by the middle of next week. The upside of broken lifts is snow preservation.

    Thanks!

And you are absolutely correct about slowing down the group. Ski down > pull out camera > hopefully your partner nails it and you get "the shot" > pack up > move on. Nobody wants to wait around when it is good so it helps to be efficient.

Getting something decent is so much easier though when you actually have a partner(s) willing to work with ya.

Shooting randoms...shit, might as well be hunting unicorns.

Swimmy is about as "slow" as a 14 year old skiing around after drinking 3 red bulls and popping an adderal. Dude doesn't play around.

Took a lap on Edith again today. Was so windy could hardly stay upright. Thought my skis were going to blow away at the top. Nuts. Hooked the tail gate from my trailer and drug it up the trail for some last minute, ad hoc nordic grooming before the snow goes the shit from the upcoming warm temps.

    Nobody around, per usual.

About the worst skiing possible. Zipper crust, wind jank, facets, scree (That's Montana in a nutshell)

Swimmy can get his giant camera out of his pack and set up a shot faster than I can pull my phone out of my pocket and get it unlocked. I'm not kidding, he's got everything dialed.
