    Best Albums of 2011?

I don't know about you, but this year was a bit lackluster overall. My picks:
    1. Welcome Reality - Nero
    2. Alexander - Alexander
    3. Within and Without - Washed Out

I've had Bon Iver's newest album (self-titled) playing on Spotify lately..... It's grown on me quite a bit.

That Black Keys album is damn good also.
My orders came through. My squadron ships out tomorrow. We're bombing the storage depots at Daiquiri at 1800 hours. We're coming in from the north, below their radar.

Top three, from my point of view, in no particular order:

Steve Earle: I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive

The Decemberists: The King is Dead

Charlie Winston: Hobo (released in 2009 but only discovered by me this year)
"... Enjoy yourselves, keep your brain in your head and your head firmly attached to your body, the body active and alive, and I promise you this much: I promise you this one sweet victory over our enemies, over those deskbound people with their hearts in a safe deposit box and their eyes hypnotized by desk calculators. I promise you this: you will outlive the bastards." – Edward Abbey

The new Anthrax - Worship Music is outstanding if you like the headbangin' stuff.

    Black Country Communion 2 is excellent! Joe Bonamassa/Glenn Hughes/Jason Bonham/Derek Sherinian !!!

Dream Theater's A Dramatic Turn Of Events has some standout tracks.

Always good to hear new Saxon, A Call To Arms is solid too.

My top 5 (not in order):

    Washed Out - Within Without
TV on The Radio - 9 types of light (not their best (dear science), but still better than most of what's out there)
Radiohead - The King of Limbs (be sure to add in Staircase, Supercollider, The Butcher, and Daily Mail). Unreal live
    Fleet Foxes - Helplessness blues
    Phantogram - Nightlife

    The Kills "Blood Pressures"

If you don't know 'em, catch them live, they'll blow your mind. Here's an old favorite:
