adding an attachment

I'm trying to edit a post (mounting templates thread), and the attachment manager isn't working.
I click the "add files" button, select my file, click "upload", the little circle goes around, then nothing.
I also tried it editing other posts, and tried to attach it to this post as well. no luck.

ideas?

Tried to post a Pic in Pic of the Day thread.

Tried in Firefox, Chrome, and IE.

Doesn't upload the pic files.

EDIT - Works for me! I have the enhanced attachment uploading off (last thing in general settings). Not sure if that has anything to do with it. On OS X using FF.

It might be OSX/FF, but it had been working fine til the other day..................

btw what general settings? i must be blind i see no settings option.

up top, click on 'forum actions'

Attachments is not friendly, not that it ever really was....but its gotten worse

I do have a lot of uploaded files (which I can't figure out how to remove), so it could have something to do with a settings change which puts me over some limit of some sort.

I do too & don't see anyway to delete either.
But don't think that's the problem

edit: apparently works for me, by using the little 'image' button on the tool bar above, then browsing, then uploading selected image. Is that how you guys are trying to upload also???

I can't get it to work using the above on a PC w/Chrome and Firefox. The image is larger though ~400kB, could that be the issue?

Could it be a sizing issue? Can you try to post one 400kb or larger to check hugh's theory?

Actually, disregard, just tripped over this FS thread from this morning with 4 pics at 400kb and above.

tried resized & add image via toolbar & this is what I get
"DSC01067.jpg: This is not a valid image file"
Since it's .jpg & not to big, wtf?
the uploading worked fine a week ago w/ out any issues

still can't load pics, only now I get the same error schralper et al are reporting. Oh well.

Not working for me either. Before and after I changed that setting, I get, "Not a valid image"

OTOH, If you wrap {img} LINK HERE {/img} tags (using square brackets) you can still hotlink.

Furthermore, I can't even open the new "sunburst" looking forum in firefox without having it freeze. I had to go into IE, change back to the old style, copy that link into FF just so I can waste time properly.

Still can't upload pics. Now getting the same message as Schralper.

I have 99 images currently uploaded, and see no way to delete images if there is an image number limit.

this is the error i get. I know the gurus are aware of it, but haven't heard how it's going...

Can we get a status update? Just wondering if anyone is working on this, or of its months away from even being looked at. If the latter then I can stop trying in vain to post pics.
