Pretty sure no one wants to go back to that. But if you eliminated 95% of enviro regulation written since 1980, you would probably never notice the difference.

'You' probably wouldn't. To 'notice' would require an education, and a pretty good one. You'd have to know about everything from culturalresources to microbiology, with a lot of ecology to help consider not only individual aspects but the relationship between them. You'd have to know enough to know what you don't know and where to go for that information.
Far simpler to just be a dumbshit, pick numbers out of the air and make sweeping generalizations based on half-understood misinformation from corporate thinktanks.

Minnesotans may not realize how much pollution is occurring because existing regulations are sufficient to allow prevailing weather patterns to remove the pollution generated on a daily basis and dispersing it elsewhere. But simply spending time in a place like LA, Rapid City or Salt Lake City that traps pollutants during a temperature inversion demonstrates how bad things can get even with existing regulations.

DBT, you sure seem to have a lot of free time that you very clearly don't spend skiing or climbing or... well... are you doing anything with your life besides posting on TGR?

DownboundTrain... so are you long-term unemployed or something? On disability? Do you get paid for posting on TGR?

Aside from being wrong for the reasons others pointed out, you completely missed the point. The point is that racing to the bottom in the name of global competitiveness is a lose lose proposition. China is 'winning' that race right now. If that is 'winning', I'd rather lose.

i've always guessed he was a used car saleman. Only has to get away from this desk when he's on deck and a prospective sucker walks on the lot.
