the corny soft snow conditions will be judged on it's goodness alone which was top notch spring quality.

but really it is the people who make it worth the drive, hell anyone can tour alone.
wonderful day folks to be in the mountains with family and friends, ach, mofro, buster, piste, greydon, jtgoat, josh all the fams. and the snosk8 crew and the various other k00ks training for alaska.

    thanks

It should be noted that the coveted padded seats have been removed and stored for the season.
Otherwise, they would be covered by snow today.
Damn wet at the bottom of the pass OTOH.

Dry weather forecast for Friday and Saturday.

    Saturday = Crystal.

Friday = Pilchuck. Anyone who wants to do this nice, little loop meet at the Granite Falls IGA by 11:15 to carpool to the TH. Can drive to within a mile (maybe even closer now) of the TH. That leaves about 3 miles and 2K to the summit with a fun run down the Gunsight, short bootpack, down Larrison Ridge, another short boot, and down through trees and the not-so-clearcut runs of the old ski area to the car. A link to our tour a couple weeks ago.

Yo- yo jt, thanks for the invite Saturday.
Will have to rain-check it, work is heating up.
Weather for Crystal is calling for "Chance Rain Showers" all weekend.

NOAA weather radio and NWS calling for partly sunny in the lowlands with 30% chance of showers in the hills. Figure that's pretty good odds and hoping the sun breaks push higher. Will know more Friday morning. If raining, I'll pull the plug. If cloudy but dry, it's a go. Will make some burnt offerings to Mother Nature and see what She does.

Pilchuck should be awesome Friday. I small group of us are going to south of Harts pass for a 3 day ski touring trip. It looks like a perfect weather window is opening up from Friday to Sunday night. Should have at least 5 inches of fresh above 5k

    ...or a little sunshine.

weekend doesn't look like a washout and maybe dry till monday. at least the southern resort did not lose as much lower mtn. coverage as previous week.
we will inspect this theory on sunday.

Pilchuck forecast looks good for tomorrow>> Friday: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 54. Calm wind becoming northeast between 6 and 9 mph.

Leaving the Granite Falls IGA (left at the four-way stop sign in the center of town) at 11:15. Meet by then if interested and able. Should be some fresh to make a mess of though haven't seen the summit poke out of clouds yet. Pilchuck webcam.

The plan is on. Good forecast and new snow that'll feel old by tomorrow. The more crud-bustin', powder-whorin', skin-track-layin' folks the better. Should be fun times. 11:15 at the GF IGA.

Counting on that for some track laying. See you this weekend.

One of the posse is toting a grill and some charcoal, I think to the top. Bring a brat or something to toss on. Should have plenty of time to cycle a couple of laps or explore some of the lesser skied variations or both.

    Tomorrow....

occupied a couple gondolas today in the mist.
pretty fun skiing though so little wet was not enough to dampen spirits.
ach jtgoat h grom mags ofpiste and more made the southern resort feel homey, breakfast was just the icing that started the day right.
one thing i noticed when on gondola is i need to be facing uphill otherwise stomach gets unruly quick.
nice skiing with pnwbrit in afternoon discussing my expanding computer based education program.
alpental tomorrow with the crew is going to be our am plan.

nice day at alpental and even better snow.
international was golden top to bottom with perfect snow, no debris and filled in wall to wall.
jtgoat set our pace till he disappeared into the mist, we were in no hurry and soon patroller kurt was on our tails to watch me finish the uphill task. soon mofro and jr. fro showed up and well now it was a gathering at the padded chairs terminus.

plans for a thursday trek if andy will have us

Bummed I missed y'all. Started skinning up around 12:30, and booted up Nash for some volcano training. Good skiing. The "groomer" from lower I over to Sessel was a nice bonus.

I'll be occupying Bunny Flat on Thursday evening . Git sum!
