Through intensifying pain I was instructing the kids at Waste tonight for SOS.
I would say tomorrow will be one of those days, that if you weren't there you will wish you had been. A solid foot of really nice snow on top of soft pack by the time I left. I would expect a 5 star day tomorrow.

I will be back on snow hopefully towards the end of next week. I have to get some arthroscopic surgery on Monday to remove a piece of cartilage that broke off of my kneecap when it dislocated. Doc's gonna try and remove some old bone spurs and smooth a few things out. This may have been the best thing that could have happened to me. Once again everything happens for a good reason if you let it.

elevator was sweet this afternoon below every steep slot.
huge piles of chalky good to cushion the high speed turns over the ice. lower section still a bit variable with the covered breakable crust yielding another 6" underneath.
nice to see all the kids lapping upper mt.
    till tomorrow

Alpental was awesome today, especially the upper mountain. Once the elevator gate opened it was on! Will be up there again tomorrow around 11 after I take a test in the morning. Feel free to say hi, I have a blue jacket, black pants, black helmet, and I ride a blue/black lib tech skate banana. Also might be wearing a contour on my dome piece.
there is powder out there, and it ain't gonna find you

I'll be back on snow in a few days hopefully, then light duty for a week or two, and then it's on.
I'm so relieved that I won't be out for the rest of the season.

Ya, think we got a lap and a half before that disappeared. I was fine trading off snow for visibility for that short amount of time. Ropeline rode well today. Tomorrow should be fun if nash gate opens..

Expectations were set low after reading the report of crust at 7am. And then expectations were smashed, excellent day and never waited a minute in line. Didn't stop much for pictures, but I'll toss one up.

Yeah, today was well above expectations for me, I'm setting the low for tomorrow however. Not counting on Nash gate at all, would rather be surprised.

I've noticed negative is the new positive with the summit kids on this board. High expectations for maximum reward ain't a terrible idea.

another surprise today keeping with the low expectation theme, low crowds and still nice snow.
chair loaded before 9 to 5 people ready for an open nash gate.
not yesterday quality, but very nice conditions still prevailed.

lots of little ones on the hill but they are easy prey in the lift line
