The biggest shit show is Saturday, the Sunday folks seem to roll with a bit less entitlement.

At what point does this become an official "occupy lot 4" movement?

Why would families park in lot 4 in first place?

as the elevator gate keeps moving down, the number of people passing above hasn't. seems that only responsible riders and respectful guests follow letter of the law, otherwise same old traffic entering thru original elevator gate.

the lower gate now invites access to the average rider who may not have even known of original gate. this allows people not aware of hazards to enter terrain they should not be in.

put back in a knoll 0 entrance since it is getting crushed anyhow.

The whole thing pisses me off. I don't duck ropes. Period. I can't count hhow many times I have watched others duck that rope while I follow the fucking rules. Enforce it FOR EVERYONE or move the damn gate back where it should be.

Saturday. We should nab the first 5 or spots on either side of the cat track entrance in the SW corner. Not only is that the preferred location of the Bellevue-est (I can say that because I live there) tents, but they'd then have to go through us - and Uncle S's dogs - to get to/from their Corona and Pinot parties.

We are the 1%!!!....that ski before Xmas and after the first 65-degree day in the city.

I share this disgust and am glad you spoke up. A few weeks back on a powder day they were not letting people in lot 4 because it was full at 8:30. In coming out of the BC I see 3 or 4 canopies up taking entire parking spots. Needless to say I was pissed, why do the parking attendants allow this to happen? Tailgating is great but don't deny a parking spot to someone so you can drink wine and eat stinky cheese while sitting on your purple UW chairs around your minivans and range rovers. Bullshit.

I get there early most weekends, before 7:30 and that Dam corner canopy is always set up. If we all make note to park as close to the cat track entrance, blast inappropriate music, let our dogs fight, keep a pungent skunky stench in the air, I think we can reclaim lot 4. Just a thought. I'll be there Sunday doing this

i am so proud of you guys, this lot 4 movement feels so right.
once the entitled busloads stopped puking fumes in the lot i was all 'yeah we got room to breath again'. soon enuf the snoshoers and sledders began to fill er up, now we have tents, pinot, land cruisers and prissy people that dont even ride double parking in the lot.
i hope people burn out on mountain recreation and get back to the country club.
see you early and obnoxious on saturday
    im pissed now

^Even as a parent with 4 mags in training in lessons, those canopy groups tick me off. Half of them aren't even skiing. The reason my kids are in lessons at Alpental is so I have a decent place to ski while they are in lessons.

For those who ask why parents park in lot 4, it is much easier to get your kids to the lessons by skiing down from lot 4 to the magic carpet than hiking up from the other lots. I don't have a problem with tailgating, just don't make it impact others by taking up so many spots or act like a bunch of douches.

Two Saturdays ago, some family threw down a propane tank and lawn furniture to "save" 3 spots on the east berm. Enough is enough. Hell, WE don't even pull shit like that. I'll be there early Saturday.

I'll see if I can get them up early enough to score a prime spot by you guys. If not, we'll swing by so I can at least meet the famous Lot 4 crew. Plus I just scored a sweet pair of Kastle 205s for LBD.

Not to dampen your enthusiasm, but the LBD standing length minimum has always been 210...
That said, I have (as well as other as others attending) a quiver of long boards that you are welcome to ski if your BSL is within range.

Regarding the OL4 movement, I know we can rally more then 4 rigs to the cause...
Maybe we could combine it with patronage to the GSA to gather some support?

Dang, I couldn't remember if it was 205 or 210. I'll have to check out Goodwill again. Everyone should have a pair of longboards in the quiver. At least that's what I keep telling my wife.

Keep looking and watch Craigslist as well, they come up.
I make a habit of chatting up tall, old time rippers on the lift, picked up a pair of fresh Volkl 210s last season that way.

tents n stuff could occupy enough space to let other mags swing in a bit later and still enjoy prime time parking.

Amazing pic, Kevino. Makes me realize how little I accomplished this morning.
