Live online, now. Actual live coverage is in and out right now. The announcers sound like they just woke up.

Thanks for the feed link. These guys are rippin'. Just got word from the Telluride finish line and JumboTron. Apparently they are an hour ahead of schedule???? Sounds like a stretch, but it takes 2 hrs to drive this route at 50-60mph for a good chunk of this route and they are 3 hrs or so from Durango with 33 miles left. It had to have been around 10:45 am when they finally left the Durango 'loop'.

Peloton put the screws down to get that group back today. They had to or it would have been a 23 man race the last 6 days. Not sure why, but the finish in T-ride didn't do much for me...just seemed kinda blah. Nabili is gonna try to crush the Mt. CB climb tomorrow.

That coverage was fucking HORRIBLE. They started at 2:00p, when there was essentially 45 minutes of racing left. What. The. Fuck. They couldn't put off showing "Hunting and Fishing on the West Side of North Dakota" to air another hour of the race, starting a little early? Who came up with these time slots?
Good thing there's the online coverage, because the TV broadcast sucks.

^^^Yeah. The feed saved the day. I'm betting they screwed the pouch on timing due to a faster pace than expected. The last half hour has been repeating the parts they did show on NBC and both times I did not see when Danielson got caught in the last 3 miles. Bummer for him in the end, heck of a pull for most the way up the Dolores and over Lizard Head and Alta to the valley.

Even so... with the "quality" of NBC Sports programming on weekday afternoons, you'd think they would want to show more live coverage on TV. Whoever negotiated the broadcast rights screwed the pooch.

08-20-2012, 04:26 PM #33Same here but they did just average close to 27mph with over 10k of climbing. Insane. Farrar just stood up and walked away from everyone.

I did not expect much from them. After the way they handled everything else this year. I avoid them like the plague. I do not want them to get a false sense of security from ratings. I will watch shitty online coverage or watch highlights before even considering NBshit.
Edit: The online coverage for the Pro Challenge is pretty good. Generally better before the Phil&Paul calamity start near the end (probably coincides with NBshit's coverage).

The thing I don't get is why they don't have on demand replay on the shack tracker? Should be easy enough?

I take back what I said about VN crushing Mt. CB tomorrow. I had no idea he had slipped off the back and finished almost 2 minutes back. I guess being out front all day at altitude killed him. Cadel and Taylor were both 12 minutes back...OUCH

Live feed was good once they actually got the cameras rolling. An hour of watching the finish line while there was racing going on was frustrating.
Heard them say that Cuddles was playing domestique today, must not be in it to win it (obviously he's out at this point).

Fun times on lizard head yesterday. Good group of people. Met Bob. Headed up to CB today.

It was funny watching Cuddles attempting domestique. He fetched bottles but the road tended to grab them before he could hand them off. The previous two years were on for him with un-Cadel like good luck. This year he has had a run of bad luck. Maybe next year things will be better for him. Nothing else he will help TJ mature into a contender.

What a fucking finish today.... TJ came out of nowhere with the rest of the peloton.
All stages should have a mountain-top finish.

insane finish. 2 years in a row and the little CAT 3 climb up to Mt. CB crushed folks. How in the world did the peloton run down the break inside of 8 miles and a 4 min gap?
Where did TJ come from? That was nuts.

Anyone know why Tyler Farrar's bike was blacked out on the first stage? Maybe I was missing something, but all the Cervelo logos were darkened on his bike (assuming this is the guy that rides for Garmin and broke away on Stage 1.... maybe I have my names wrong).

Probably set up the camper on one of the tight turns on the Battle Mountain descent, but if not, I'll just open my door.

I've got a sitter and we've got a good size crew going up toward the finish line, you're welcome to join. That Battle Mtn descent is gonna be FAST and SCARY....don't go over the edge.
