Artists, photogs, doodlers.....Call for graphics! - Worth Skis

Hey all, our new company, Worth Skis, is preparing its first production run of a limited number of final prototypes/demos/testers. We are an East Coast skier-focused brand building backcountry-oriented, semi-custom skis.

We are looking to build our bank of imagery for topsheet graphics and since we were born on this board, we thought we would open it up to you all to see what you might want to contribute.

Once we launch the brand officially for retail production and sales, our customers will be able to choose their graphics. We have a modest (5% of retail price) licensing fee to offer anytime a retail customer selects your image. For this first test production run, we will not be able to offer any licensing fees, but it will be our signature look for the launch of the brand. Plus, we will co-market in all our outreach materials.

You can read more about us on our website (just a temporary site, our proper site will be up late January or so) or follow us on Facebook. There is some discussion in the EC roll call thread on this as well.

    Thanks!

Don't have Illustrator or an in-house designer. But here are some basics.... The image files we will use are basically big rectangles with some extra room around the ski. Add 4cm to the length of the ski and 6mm to each side for width. So for a ski that is 185cm long with a 150mm tip, the canvas would be 189cm by 162mm. If you want the image to be one image that extends across both skis, just double the width and use the one rectangle (it gets cut in half for production).

An example of some of the preliminary work we are looking at (mocked up in photoshop and even publisher, just to get a sense of the look):

Came up with a few idears while watching the tube. I'll mock up some more when I am feeling more creative. If you have any ideas or like any of these and want them revamped, let me know.

The originals are all 300dpi based on the dimensions you listed above. All are easily tweak-able to any size ski you want to make.

A revamped version of my first one so you can read Worth better on the tails of the ski in color.

Here are a couple of Bacon Bits for DoWork

    Uncooked

    Crispy

And a possible logo idea for the Daily Bread ski

    Holy crap dude, nice work!

Can I bother you for one more mockup? The worth lettering and logo from the first ski in your last post- can we put that or something similar over the raw bacon background, and squeeze that awesome daily bread logo onto the blankish section of the lower right tail somehow? Sort of feel like the lettering stamp would look better on the loaf part, but not sure. Either way thanks for the artistic endeavor!

p.s.- beers on me system, that is some sweet freaking work right there.

Sure thing DoWork. I'll mock one up tomorrow. Gonna have to play with the fading of the text though. Originally it was a black to white gradient over the black topsheets so it just sort of faded away. I tried to just dupe the work from the original ones onto the bacon topsheets and it looked way different so I'll have to change the gradient from white to transparent.

Also, like I told Weasel, I want to take a new raw bacon picture. That mock up was low res and I think when times comes to print it may not be super quality. For now, I'll mock it up with the image I used here but ultimately I would prefer to just shoot another good slab of bacon to get it more detailed before they actually get printed.

Glad you like the bread. Was just shooting from the hip there. I'll move the text to the loaf and give it a little bend so it looks more like it is wrapping around the loaf a little bit.

Weasel, DoWork, TC, et al. Should I continue posting mocks in this thread? I have no problem doing so and it's cool to get feedback from others. But if you wish to take these more private I have no problem doing that as well. Stoked you guys are liking some of my ideas!

Dude that's totally awesome, you can just roll with it from here on out, I have total faith based on what I've seen so far. I'd DEFINITELY keep posting your ideas and mock ups in here as it keeps the worth stoke train rolling and keeps the creative juices flowing too.

Love the bread logo, especially if it's close to the pink worth name on the tails so people will at least have something to google if they like them. That and there seems to be an amazing food theme going on too, which is more than ok with me as I'm a total fatty on the inside.

Thanks again for all your work, can't wait to see the finished design!

Had a 100% shit day personally. Tried mocking up some baconators and my flow just isn't there today. Good news is I got to eat some bacon after shooting new stills for the topsheets. Dowork I need feedback as my creative nut has run dry today.
