Z - those are some damn fine shots. I think you have found your calling. I, on the other hand, have found mine: slaying hard-to-get-to-pow. Proof:

Way to crank out the video Trevor!
Skied one mediocre and two amazingly fun laps in the Anthracites today, barely crossing another track. We found reasonably supportable snow, even if it was faceted all the way to the ground. Needless to say virtually every steep pitch sloughed heavily. Maybe today wouldn't have seemed so fun on a normal year, but boy did I have a good time!

A couple of shots from New Years day on Richmond. Hopefully we actually get a little bit of snow this weekend.

Sadly, this thread wouldn't be historically accurate without showing the riding conditions down in Hartman's. I hope many decades pass before it's rideable in January again.

Right on.. was also out there on Friday having a blast on the bike. Rattlesnake to Becks is super fun. Did a lap down Skyline also and tried to get out to Luge, but I had to head in early. Looks like we missed bumping into each other by a few hours. Tried to beat the storm and ride the trails in Eagle on Saturday morning, but the snow came in early.

Isn't Aberdeen closed due to sage grouse? Bring a couple back for me.

If you haven't ridden the new Aberdeen, it has quite possibly the best flow of any mtn bike trail i've ever ridden (in the clockwise direction). Last mile is butter

That pic of the slab breaking is very cool goldenboy!!!
Went back for seconds today. The winds definitely worked the snow overnight, mucher hard slabs this morning than last night. But, the snow is still good in the trees.
Wanted to note the Tuesday slide referenced on CBAC. Unless its a different slide, which is possible, the slide I saw was not nearly as big as described. 200 vertical feet, 300 tops; still definitely large enough to mess you up! Another party triggered this slide today(I've jacked the contrast so its more visible). They seemed to think it was a slab, not a loose slide, seems to me to be some kind of hybrid. Interesting to me because of the length it ran (400 vertical feet), and the lack of propagation(~15 feet wide the entire path length), nor did it really step down over the course of its run. Went by it quickly but wasn't really interested in hanging out there, debris pile looked about 1 meter deep. Note: it looks like it pinches off there in the pick, but it actually started significantly higher and wrapped around a corner there.

hey mike, on CBAC there is a video on the 2011-2012 media page in case you wanted to see. Doesn't show the slide moving, just after the fact. 800 feet is very over-estimated.
Drive slow, homie.

Frank- with all the local comments about riding at hartmans, it is your video that will likely push me to air up the tires and get out this weekend. Rattlesnake looks great. Thus far I've resorted to shit-snow adventures, running at hartmans, and replacing the urge to bike with pouting.

I'm not a skater, but the ice this year has been incredible. I feel I missed out as some friends have skated 9+miles of open ice from Elk Creek to the Lake City Bridge prior to the last snow

In route to Hancock

Purple, Owen, etc in the distance

Daisy post Hancock. Oops, got some skiing left to do...in the dark

Richmond

Prepping for the winter that refused to arrive
