TLT Speed Radical No Crampon Attachment??

So I searched for a while and couldn't find much about the TLT Speed Radical binding accepting ski crampons. It seams like it will not since it does not have those little hooks like the other models do. Would there be any way to add them? Thanks

There is a black metal clip that's held down by the rear mounting screws that holds the crampon

ok cool thanks. For some reason the guys at Black Diamond were telling me you could not use ski crampons with the new speed.

my speed radicals didn't come with the little black piece that attaches to make the toe-pieces ski crampon compatible...so the guys at BD may be correct. no reason why you couldn't get it from salewa though.

most of the pictures i've seen of the speed radical show it having the black piece. i know they were/are late to arrive in the states, so maybe they were in a hurry to get them out of the factory and just forgot to put them in the boxes.

will see what i can find out.

okay, sounds like the speed radicals are crampon compatible, but the first batch shipped to the US from EU were missing the metal clip.

Am I correct that all the radicals use a different crampon mount from the older dyna bindings so u need new cramps and the old cramps are incompatible with the radicals?

This picture certainly shows a crampon slot. Zoom in if you can't see it at first. It's the silver and black bit at the rear end of the toe piece.

As Steve said, the Speeds are crampon compatible. If you're missing the clip, email me at john.milne@salewa.com and I'll shoot you a pair.

It's a variation on the Vertical style mount but they are fully compatible with Dynafit crampons which haven't changed at all this year.

    John,

Thanks for posting. Now get back to work. I need my boots back and you guys still haven't processed the order for Speed Radicals that I placed back on October 28.
