Yup, with the iceaxe.tv posse. So, who from the board is on this trip anyway?
So far: me, NoHow, StraightChuter, and PointsNorth... who else?

I don't know if stunts is with any crew but saw a couple days ago that he was on his way down from Tokyo. I'm sure y'all will find each other.

The forecast for crossing the Drake Passage is starting to look spicy: 1-2m waves building to +10m swells by this weekend. Bon voyage?

Jim, what are you shooting on? Wondering how much weight in glass etc you are dragging out there with you

Best wishes to you, NoHow and the rest of the crew for this trip!_______________________________________________

My current camera kit is a Canon 7D, 70-200 f4 non-IS, 24-70 2.8, 10-22 3.5, plus tripod, fluid head, and a prime lens or two I dont often take skiing. Camera body plus three lenses and cases weighs in somewhere around 8lbs and the tripod + head adds 4 or 5lbs more. And my setup is probably way smaller and lighter than what the heavy-hitting ski photogs are hauling.
Yeah, it should be a great trip despite the potential for rough seas. We were brainstorming ideas for a trashcan-mounted puke-POV last night. Too bad I don't have one of those snazzy new 120fps GoPros.

I believe that Mister 'Snow stats' Crocker would be part of that trip. I saw him post once or twice over here, forgot what his alias was on TGR. I really have to hand it him for getting out and making this trip as his experiences are almost uniquely lift assisted (everywhere from ropetow to copters)
Looking forward on your updates Gnarwhale. Have a good trip and may you not need to many sea-sick pills.
I love to make a trip like this, but my wallet is pretty thin.Ski Mad World

The boat is headed back to Ushuaia now on schedule with their itinerary. Will be back on Sunday. Internet on the boat turned out to be less reliable than he thought it would be. Sounds like it was an awesome trip with about a weeks worth of great skiing. Photos and stories to follow in a few days
