Anyone used the BCA Magic Carpet skins?
I know the original BCA skins were generally regarded as junk, but apparently BCA changed their skins last year, and they get pretty good reviews on the Offpiste Mag skin review. Anyone tried them? Any comments on grip, glide, durability, glue, etc?

I have some from last year (I think) that are on my Drifters. They're yellow with a navy blue swirly/tribal tatoo/whatever pattern. I was looking for more packable skins than BD Ascensions that are really wide (isn't/wasn't available for Glidelights) and these fit the bill. No particular reason I didn't look at G3s.

so how do you like them, as far as glide and grip (compared to ascensions)?

Well, my Ascensions are cut for Mantras and my BCA skins are cut for drifters (20-30mm wider everywhere), so when I say that I don't notice much of a difference between the tow for grip and glide, take that with a grain of salt. And I'd say I like them fine. I wish the tail stretcher were longer and easier to use like BD skins, but it's really secure for round tails.

Since I started the thread I guess I should update it. Overall I'm fairly pleased with them. I think they use the same fabric as Climbing Skins Direct. I've heard that rumor, and BCA said its at least "very similar". They glide very well for synthetic. Grip pretty good, maybe not quite as good as ascensions. In those regards they are pretty much the same as my old Climbing Skins Direct skins. I really like the riveted on tip attachment. I used some old ascension tail hooks instead of the old school tip stretchers BCA gives you. My only complaint is I've lost a few patches of glue on them after only 10-12 days on them. If I was paying retail for them I'd likely just go with Ascensions, but I got a good deal on them and I happy enough.
