Google Redirect Virus WTF!!!
This virus is utterly annoying and I can't get rid of it. Tried various anti-virus solutions but nothing is working. And when I try to Google remedies I keep getting redirected all over the fucking place FML. Anyone have the same experience and gotten rid of it?
Thanks

also find your hosts file and make sure google isn't being redirected there
go to this page and follow the directions. there should be a fix me button or directions to do it manually

Download and run this like liv2ski said:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/
If that doesn't work google 'search engine hijack' and find a manual fix. Instead of clicking on the link in google copy and paste the address into your browser's address bar and it shouldn't redirect you.

download and run combofix too. Sometimes malwarebytes doesn't catch these.
I resolve PC issues remotely. Need to get rid of all that pr0n you downloaded on your work laptop? Or did you just get a ton of viruses from searching for "geriatic midget sex"? Either way I can fix them. PM Me for maggot prices.

If all else fails, go to another computer and burn a rescue CD, then boot off of that.

uninstall your browser and reinstall. I can't remember the location, but some malware puts files into the program files of your internet broswer to redirect search engines. I imagine you get redirected from other search engines too. You can use another computer to search to try and find more info to delete them, or you can reinstall.

This sums it up for you.

Edit: chances are there is a rootkit installed. Most of the above posts won't help. That link I posted should get you running again.

Yeah I tried Malwarebytes and it doesn't work. Thanks McAfee for doing fucking nothing. Will explore options posted above. My computer is on the older side so I'm tempted to just huck it off a skyscraper and get a new one. Appreciate the help though guys.

I had the Google redirect problem. If you go to "Majorgeeks" there is tons of info on getting rid of it. It is infact a rootkit issue. Regular old antivirus software won't get rid of it.
Check this thread, and also follow their Malware removal guide. You will be amazed what is hidden on your PC.

If combofix and one of the many Live Boot CD's scanners (Kaspersky, etc.) does not find anything- then you might have to take it to a pro or open a thread on one of the many ASAP forums out there to step through removal. Or just copy your data off the drive, reformat and reinstall your OS, programs, etc. and then restore your data files.
Or just get a new computer if it is in fact an old outdated system...
