"Hesher"....the movie a maggot could love

I found this 2010 movie in a RedBox....and late last night was just going to preview a few minutes of it before watching it this evening. Ended up watching the WHOLE movie last night.

Hesher is hard to put an accurate handle on....it is 'in your face' straight-up warped, looped, gonzo, off-the-fucking-wall, blitzo, and oh yes, it IS twisted, and yet has an endearing message that comes out in the end...but even with that endearment, this movie never fails to bring on the laughs and the "WTF?"s.

Watching Hesher is like being visited by that crazed, maniacal cousin that everyone says you should stay away from, yet you can't seem to be able to do it.

It's that forbidden cigarette of a movie that just says: "What the fuck are you waiting for?...smoke me." And you abide.

You won't find Hesher in the running for any Oscars or Golden Globes....I truly think if you would have, then this movie would have missed its mark.

If you miss it, you're going to miss a trip.

But be forewarned: It ain't no normal movie....but then again, normalcy is highly overrated.

    Hesher. Watch it.

Here is the trailer for it:

Activities of the Hesher Mullet include smoking and selling "grass", listening to heavy metal music, playing GALAGA at the local Quick-Mart (all day), being mean to neighbor kids and younger siblings, sniffing glue, torturing animals and cheating (on anything). Basically, an outstanding citizen.

Though in its infant stages, this mullet has serious potential. With excellent contrast of hair on top to back, a menacing aura, and a dedicated attitude, this mullet could look pretty schweet in a year or so.

    * There is NO such thing as a Hesher Mullet without a Mullestache.

You know how when a YouTube video ends and you get those other videos that come up on the bottom to tantalize or disgust you?

Just found this really weird SHORT amongst the othr vids after the Hesher preview trailer had ended.

Reminds me sorta of the 'shorts' that HBO would put out in between movies. Sorta whimsical, sorta stupid. This one's more on the stupid side...but worth a few minutes.

    'Jac et Bill' ...

I've checked the link for the vid trailer (youtube link) and the wikipedia link about the movie, and both are working properly. Might be a problem on your end. Sometimes, youtube links take a while to d/l...and the screen just shows white momentarily...give it a bit and it should come up.

Thanks for the hint. Looks like Conner has been conned out. Checked netflix and Hersher is only on DVD. But their stock drop has had them putting up stuff you search a lot faster lately, so hopefully it shows up on the instant stream.
We don't make the snow. We just make it more enjoyable.

Good movie. Dark, and yet endearing message. Didn't really like the little kid's acting, but Gordon-Levitt was great.
