Really nice corn cycle going on right now. freezing hard so you don't have to get an 0'dark start, then decent coverage down low. Glad to have ski crampons going up, but the E-SE ridge of Taylor did not disappoint on the way down, silky and smooth. Still impressive to see all the busted trees melting out of the debris below the poop chute.

Still found some dry, winter snow on the Middle Teton Glacier up to the Dike Col. Dense pow on East face getting moist around 1. Rock step going to the north summit is still big. Skied from the notch. Booted right from Bradley lake up the gut of Garnet. No instablilties other than Isolated windslab up high and wet snow down low on the way out.
Where has everybody been the past few days? Ive seen almost no one and the park is skiing great.

Question: is there snow between Jenny lake and phelps? Teton pass >> teton creat trail >> coming out cascade canyon on Thursday, not sure if we should drop car off at phelps or Jenny.
We are assuming Jenny access is still closed so we'll need to skin back to phelps from there - is that the case or will we walking on dirt/pavement?
Thanks!

The road is closed at Bradley/Taggart trailhead.

Park a car at Bradley/Taggart TH. Its just south of the Cottonwood Creek bridge. From Jenny Lake, it'll be 4-5 miles of flat valley skiing to get back there. The road from Jenny - Taggart is plowed and dry, but there is still snow in the valley so you can stick to the meadow if you want to keep skiing.

Hi there Jackson folks- allow me one spam post. TGR has pulled together some sweet prizes for a contest by the maggots, for the maggots:
http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ot-POV-Contest
We want to do it again next year, but we really need participation from all of you guys this year to get it off the ground. This season's contest is not limited to footage from this year- go back into your archives and pull out your sickest stuff. Or best beaters. Lets see you guys fill up your region with some sick edits!

Can we just submit skijunky05's edits and say we win?
On a conditions note, park is still skiing well but another couple days of warm temps and there will be big dirt patches on the normal aproach to the lakes, also be careful crossing the creek and the lakes later on in the day. From the looks of the tracks on bradley some people have found some soft spots.

Hey WY folks. I'm going to be rolling through town for a coupla days May 5, 6ish. Wondering what you lads think about conditions probable around that time (ie is your snowpack decent enough that there should be some skiing left?). I've posted this as it's own thread too, but thought I'd chuck it in here also. If any of you would care to show me a line or too, that'd also be great. I'm a fairly capable skier and a half decent tourer (prolly good for 5000' anyway) Got some mountaineering skills but am not Will Gadd.

Gary, I'll be back in town for about 10 days starting the evening of the fifth, I suspect that the approaches will be melted out but there will certainly be some lines worth skiing higher up. I think we'll get a bit more cold and snow before all is said and done. Shoot me a PM around then and we'll line something up.

Lost Contour Roam Camera on Paintbrush...
Lost this thing in early February on a pow day...it fell out of my pocket during an attempted safety meeting. I'm not looking for it returned, I'm just making you all aware that if you want to go for a hike in JHMR this spring/summer, and want to make it a bit of a treasure hunt, the camera's yours. It'll probably be damn easy to find in a few weeks, when most, but not all of the snow has melted.
It was in my pocket when I dropped it--I also dropped a lighter, and was so concerned about that, that I overlooked dropping the camera and didn't realize it until 2 chairs later. By the time I returned the wind had filled my tracks, and with it any hope of finding it. Oh yeah, the lighter got wet, so it was all for naught. Whoops!
More detailed location: Woods at the top of PB, skier's left. Took maybe 2-3 turns before ducking left into the woods. Look for a cluster of 3-4 trees (there are a few of these in there), I skied up to one of them in an attempt to get some wind shelter.
The camera should be inside a dark grey Oakley sunglasses microfiber bag.
If someone does happen to get lucky, I'd appreciate having the videos on it...think there was a pretty nice run through Casper and/or Crags that I wouldn't mind having for posterity's sake!
Happy hunting!

Phillips skied very effing excellent today. I love when you get entire zones to yourself.
Ski cabin last weekend was superfun too. But biking up Cache proved very difficult due to snow on road. We pushed the wheels way further than we should have. That was my first venture to that special place, and I'm already itching to get back.
And on the lost contour, I will tell my trail crew friend. You'll def get that back if anyone on here knows it is found.mmmm, snow
