It's been a blast for the last three days although my Miss's hurt herself bad (ACL tear, bone break) but we came through good overall. Her first time in the Tetons and the time of my life skiing a resort.

Everyone from the lfities, to the dudes in the ski shop, Patrol (you guys fucking rock), the ER (made me laugh - Coco and Dr Fresh Prince, you're the heat) to the ladies and gents just killing it all around me - what a cool fucking attitude this place exudes. Made all of us wanna go local!

You all stoked our stay. For a crew that grew up and is used to BC, CA, UT, Germany, Switzerland and Austria... shredding it here in Jackson was inspiring. Never felt this welcome anywhere else before. Period. Anyone who says JHWY people are anything but fucking amazingly good people to be around doesn't get the vibe or has some sort of insecurity issues. Nothing like watching the people around here throw down to get you in the mood to ride!

Thanks for the sick vibe and hope you guys get puked on for the next few months. We're on our way back to BC where I'll get some turns in, console the Miss with some vid's and TR's on this board. Post 'em up...as the ACL shit gets worked out we'll be having her live vicariously! Dream(s) are to be back before the season ends...maybe a little 15 hour trip in the future!

It is so positive (and such a contrast to some of the recent posts) that I first thought it was sarcastic!

It's nothing special, but here is a quick edit from the beginning of the storm:

I've got a smile on my face reading this, which is a rare event anymore when I come on this forum. What a dark and unhappy place it is.

I feel so fortunate to ski every day, to live such a joyful and exuberant life. It makes me so happy - skiing powder or chalk or corderoy, climbing for turns, jumping off stuff, riding with the sluff, banging bumps, the almost free fall of a steep face, the unfolding puzzle of a billy goat line, grinding a spine, tapping a trunk, sharing it all with kids - the fairy tale world of snow on the mountains and in the forest, being high, high, high on top of the world with wings strapped to my feet. Feeling superhuman as I dance circles around those less equipped and feeling the closest camaraderie with my committed brethren.

I just can't comprehend all the hate. Such a turn off. Where's the good natured ribbing, the light-hearted banter, the hospitality toward visiting or newly minted maggots, the maggoty love toward each other in our common cause. Are we not all skiers and united in our one true love? Why are you here? When is the last time you skied with a maggot you haven't met before, showed them a line you know and love? Shared the wealth? I'm not talking about selling out for internet fame, I'm talking about generosity within the tribe.

Ok there's my rant. Thanks for reading. I'm not much into starting threads anymore and I went to Jackson last week, so here it is.

I also had a very fine trip to Jackson. Too fine really. There's a rhythm to the skiing there that I can tune into, it matches the beating of my heart. And I also found the people there agreeable and warm. I may come back for an extended stay. We'll see.

I didn't take many pics, not into that too much these days and the best and deepest turns I got sworn to secrecy and put the camera away, but I got something for you. Cool little line in the south slack, skied so nice by a local friend. Fun to watch.

^What a badass principal! And that was a very nice post, SheRa! Hard not to have a good time during a storm cycle here when you've got some good guides.

Here's a little vid from the Friday/Saturday during the storm:

This seems like a good place to post this. Sitting in I-70 traffic last weekend we saw a truck with a rolling billboard on it advertising Jackson Hole. It said "How was Practice? Become Jackson worthy." I thought it was a hilarious slam by a marketer with a good sense of humor. Way to go Jackson, put all the Denver tards in their place.

    Nice post Shera.

Skied south of the pass today. Found good snow on a S aspect and more good snow in some protected trees near Edelweiss. Nothing notable instability wise.

Did notice that surface hoar had formed on the snow surface. Something to keep in mind since this little storm did not seem to come in with alot of wind.

Expert chutes skied well today, my buddy Carl stepped it up his first day in Jackson on his first day of skiing for the season.

    Bwah!
Thats the one! The best part is that was sitting in what is probably the worst ski traffic in the country. We all just had to stare at it. For hours.

How's the resort skiing, guys... I'm flying out tomorrow.. noticed a hazardous weather warning for Noaa, but doesn't appear to be much of anything.

Inbounds chalky and soft? 'Toga and the hobacks tracked out? I suppose I'll find out, but I'm getting giddy over here... pretty pysched. Taking my nephew for his first trip out west. Im pretty psyched for him as well.

The countdown begins! 14 days till I return to the rad-badass-rowdy-ness that is jackson. From the pics and vids, it looks like the mountain is getting set up quite nicely. Keep the stoke coming!

Thanks for the props, guys. Love your mountains.

I understand there's one around there called Miriam, my name. Must climb. Must ski. It's got my name on it!

Nice! I told Fritz I was headed up and he called George. I know George because he was part of a ripping crew at Arapahoe Basin. Some of the sickest skiers I've been around.

I met a bunch of other cool guys going north too. About half snowboarders. I pity them the traverse back.
