GFS continues to predict zonal flow for west coast. That is 4 consecutive days of model runs. Showing possible precip for Tetons by next tuesday. Then, the door to the Pacific finally opens: model showing moderate to high probabilities of precip over Tetons beginning wed afternoon 1/18 and continuing to end of model run, 1/27. Showing very high probability for next thursday and friday. Keep in mind that GFS gets vague at about 10 days out and assigns precip probabilities over a wider area than it does when the forecast becomes short term. So there's no promise that we'll actually see snow for 10 straight days, however, the model is saying that it is possible.
Forecast is for energetic storms. Warm, wet and windy. Snow lines at 5k-6K.I have come for you my child and the gift I bring is murder.

Face shots!! Not bad for such a short storm. Can't complain for a 6 inch day.

What a great day. It was the first time I'd used the Alpenhof Tram Cam. Tram lines are sporadic. I checked in from Capser and walked right on.

Snomaster, You really need to stop shitting on others stoke.
On a different note we broke trail in Garnet today and ended up skinning to the traverse in to the meadows on the summer trail. (sorry if anyone followed our skin track.) Good snow up high with a little wind effect. Climbed/skied the SW couloir on the Middle. The top pitch (and probable bottom to iceflow) needs some more snow to be skiable but, it made a fun climb. Cold and windy up there today.

Skied in the northern range today. Nothing big, just some primo meadow skipping. Lots of snow up there. We dug a pit, 155cm deep, and most of it solid, supportable snow. Nothing too scary in the layers. Using compression tests, the new snow was moving a little, but we weren't able to trigger anything down low below the New Year's storm.
Anyway, it was beautiful, and cold, and sunny, and the snow was blower...

not a whole lot...mainly just hunting for good snow with photog. plan A turned to plan B which turned to plan C...and in the end we turned around <100' from the lower saddle due to some wind-slab and potential avy hazard. it was like a freaking hurricane exiting the canyon though...CRAZY!!!

As the above shows, you most def can put together some quality stoke
, maybe consider some constructive suggestions instead of
ing on the stuff that's not quite there yet? At least they are trying, and putting something up, which is way more than some locals [like me] are doing...
The blues has always been about taking your problems and turning them into something you can dance to, drink to and fuck to.
We're certainly not a blues band in any kind of purest sense, but to me Rock and Roll has always had it's roots in that tradition.

Thanks Tye. Thats what I was trying to get at. I didnt mean to come off all athoritive and shit.
Anyways, skied the Nugget Line today. Garnet meadows and up are windhammered. Winds at the col and upper couloir were nuking. Very firm snow in the upper part if the line. Good snow (but boney) on the rest of the line. The rap anchor was super high and required a little rock scramble to get to. A single 70m line just got us back on snow below the chalkstone.

I think we're doing just fine...and certainly a hell of a lot better than most of the rest of the country. All we need is a foot of fresh on top and it looks like that plus perhaps quite a bit more is already on its way. The cloudy day footage on the Katanas is actually from before the 30" storm. For a lot of the rest, we were intentionally going out of our way to find untracked.

I suppose I was just looking at that fottage at about 56 secs and all the rocks on the left hand side.. never seen it like that before. Like you say a foot would make a good difference. 3 feet would be nice
And yes - it could be like Tahoe, so we are lucky. Europe on the other hand is insane at the moment, but when you book ages in advance you take your chances! Will post some stoke of my own in a few days I hope..

Awesome stoke fellas, way to get after it.
Need a little travel beta to try and get to your fine establishment next week and was hoping one of you all knowing locals could answer a quick question. From Evanston should I take 89 or 189? Thanks in advance..."Listen boy,
