Argh, summit chute is top of my list of things to ski. Probably won't get it this year though unfortunately.

Three days of Duffey touring in the last of the cold sunny days ( Probably) sun affected slopes will be pooched after this week.

Decided a to have a chill day on the cruisers. Inbounds was nice! Snow is still great and there is nobody around!

nice bumping into you guys... great day for a groomer cruiser. I'm impressed you even have the proper skis for that!

Whistler crew- allow me one spam post. TGR has pulled together some sweet prizes for a contest by the maggots, for the maggots:

    http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ot-POV-Contest

We want to do it again next year, but we really need participation from all of you guys this year to get it off the ground. This season's contest is not limited to footage from this year- go back into your archives and pull out your sickest stuff. Or best beaters.

I know there is sick footage just in this thread, much less from previous seasons. Lets see it!

Turns out I did get to Fissile this year. Did my first run down Elevator Shaft today. Pucker factor getting to the entrance was high, but once in the chute it was good skiing.

Rarely skied. Don't think about the exposure.

I've got some reasonable footage from the last couple of seasons that might help (mostly inbounds drops e.g. Domanskis, arm cliff, bomb tram, lone pine etc.), but I'm definitely lack the editing skills...Hit me up if anyone's interested in putting something together.

Anyone have any recent beta on what the recent high freezing level has done to the snow at higher elevations? Planning to do a tour out to Fissile tomorrow to ski something rad. Should've done it last weekend (if the pics here and in the midwinter pow in April thread are any indication) but family stuff kept me from touring last weekend.

Hahahaha YES! That's me the backwards baseball cap. I'll gladly admit I don't know that man and his arse.

Thanks for the photos! Always time for a pants off party.

Had an amazing weekend in the Blackcomb side-country. Saturday, went up to Husume and boot packed up to the ramp that leads into it. Great snow on North facing aspects. Went to DOA after that which was hard and nasty but still fun in it's own way.

Sunday we headed out the Spearhead and skied the NW face of Pattison then came back via the 9th Hole off Decker. I don't have a camera so no pictures. Tried to shoot a video with my GoPro but the sensor screwed up and it came out entirely in magenta. Time to get a camera.

AngryBeard, Splitz and I did a tour out to Fissile on Saturday. First time skiing on Fissile for all of us.

Splitz starting the bootpack up the back.

AngryBeard left his skins in the car, so Splitz and I grabbed a lap on the NW Face. Surprisingly good conditions considering the lack of snow recently.

We met up with AngryBeard at the Himmelsbach hut for a second round. Plan was to check out Saddle Chute this time.

    AngryBeard climbing the bootpack.

The cornice on the entrance could be avoided by doing a couple of steep turns on the skiers left side of the entrance. Splitz dropping into Saddle Chute, photo by AngryBeard.

Saddle chute also skied pretty well. Enough new/dry snow to get a bit of sluff going. Lower sections had some piles of sluff that had likely released in the sun sometime earlier in the week. Neuro coming down the lower sections, photo by AngryBeard.

    Saddle Chute

Exited via singing pass. Splitz aggravated an existing shoulder injury on the ski down Saddle chute, but despite this rode singing pass on his splitboard like a champ. Good day overall. Hope to get back there to for another go this season and maybe check out Summit Chute.

Holy lack of snow at the top boot pack!

Good job regardless. How was the singing pass ski out? Still lots of snow at the bottom?

I have to admit I wasn't prepared for the lack of snow on the bootpack up. I'd looked over at it a few times while doing the spearhead, but this was my first time doing it. Was expecting to be kicking in steps, not scrambling up scree/talus.

A few shrubs sticking out where it becomes more of a wider doubletrack towards the bottom, but otherwise skis fine. Creeks are all covered and I expect it should be ski-able for a few more weeks.

Anyone have any recent photos of the N face of Fitzsimmons? I grabbed a few with my point and shoot about a month ago, but if anyone has something more recent it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm thinking about putting together a crew to hit it one day this weekend.

Also, it snowed 20 cms last night!

Also, just another day at the office for Kevin and Coho.

Not bad inbounds today! Snow was really good up high, heavier lower.

What's up with the grooming? Or lack of it? Runs that were supposed to be groomed obviously weren't.

I'm planning to tour tomorrow. Does anyone have info on how the new snow is bonding to what's underneath? Any observations?

Ditto, any current info would be appreciated. Most likely my Fitzsimmons tour will have to be deferred and I'll take on something less ambitious.

How come? Concerns about stability? We were hoping to ski Fissile.
