Got some good turns off disease today, lee stuff had loaded, and the cold temps seemed to leave the snow pretty dry and light. Ski down to Decker lake was pretty variable (wind). Inbounds made me want to teleport from the rendezvous to base 2. In fact, form the top of 7th to base 2. Yesterdays inbounds skiing was better, but average at best, 'fresh' lines skied early were ok, but pretty compacted and firm. Halfway point on peak/diamond/etc marked the end of decent skiing. Definite rain crust on a lot of stuff 1700ish.

Group of 3 skied 2 laps on Cowboy today and conditions were great. Snow was about 10-15cm (some more in wind loaded areas) on top of a bit of crust. Everything was stable, didn't see any slides or crowns all day. Singing pass wasn't pretty, but that was expected. Sharpen your edges for the ski out!

Headed up to whistler with a buddy for 5 or 6 days (Feb. 5-9 or 10). I've searched the forums a bit but due to my lack of skill wasn't able to find much. Wanted to see if there's any way to get discount lift tickets or is my best bet just getting a 5 day prepurchased pass on the website (comes out to like $85/day after tax). Thanks for the help guys.

There is a search engine called "Google". It helps you find information on the interwebz. Look what I found in just one search!

Thanks dick, i've been there already, unfortunately this doesn't provide the exact answers I'm looking for so I was looking to the collective for help on this. As in how much does a ticket actually fucking cost at 7-11 (not you save more than 10 dollars) and can I buy them more than one day in advance. Otherwise quit trying to post shit as an answer that doesnt actually have one.

Look on Whistler Craigslist. It seems some locals have 1/2 price coupons amd people often have extra tickets for sale. Buy tickets the night before for fresh tracks, it is a nice feed and get in line EARLY!

1 Day Whistler Lift Ticket Discounts
Discounted lift tickets from 7-11 convenience stores
Stretching out your ski legs for only 1 day or searching for last minute savings? Single-day discounted tickets at 7-Eleven stores are right for you.
Save over $10 on single-day Whistler lift tickets at any 7-11 in Vancouver or Squamish. The 7-11 in Whistler does not sell discounted lift tickets, so make a quick pit-stop on the drive to the slopes and get your tickets before leaving Squamish.

The 7-11 tickets have a unique bar code and are good for the current season. They become active the first time they're scanned.
All the vollies (and maybe the staff) get some 50% off coupons for their friends. That's what you see on Craigslist. You can combine two 50% coupons for 100% off.
I'm surprised the place you're staying doesn't have some sort of discount ticket. If you have a problem & think that someone else is going to solve it for you then you have two problems.

Had a couple days of touring in the past while... Phalynx cliff bands yesterday and 19th hole today... nothing crazy epic although phalynx on the right aspect was boot-top. Overall cant complain certainly better than the ice fest inbounds.

To access the Pemberton Ice Caps, do you need a sled?......or is it possible to do some day tours up there?
Anyone doing any sledding/skiing out there?
-

It's a ~25km sled up the logging road then another 5-10km+ sled up lakes + drainages to get to the good skiing. Do you really want to ski tour 35km up roads in a single day being passed by probably 50-100+ snowmobiles? There are probably 30-50+ people sled-skiing or boarding up there on any given blue day.

^ Thanks for the headz up and route info. If you don't have a sled... what would be the best way to get yourself into a group for this sort of adventure. Any meetup forums you know of GoNads?
