Went for a tour out to Cowboy Ridge yesterday. Ridgelines were wind scoured, but North East faces has about 10 cm of wind deposited light stuff. Excellent turns down Oboe on the way out towards Cowboy. I was quite surprised at how few people we saw out there. Other than an AST-1 course, we only met up with 3 other people all day.

Plenty of surface hoar on the ground in the valley between Cowboy Ridge and Oboe. Ended up skinning out via musical bumps. Anyone know how singing pass is looking at the moment?

Anyone know what this inversion is going to do for tomorrow's conditions? I was hoping to lap flute with some buddies. It was a dream on Sunday.

A stout 1/2 cm or so, maybe more on the wind loaded aspects. A little bit of sloughing going on in between ice bumps, but nothing to worry about. Probably need a chainsaw to dig a pit, so I typically take that as a good sign for avalanche danger. Got sewing machine leg skiing out to the creek from all teh chatter, so I figure I got a pretty good workout. If this cycle keeps up, the weekend should be all time!

I'd go with the 16" bar though, you don't want to trash your chain on the rocks with an 18".

Good news: It looks like the persistent high pressure area off the coast of Washington is finally going to get pushed out early next week. That means you should be back to getting some decent dumps of snow soon, and the longer range weather models tend to agree.

That was triggered by someone boot packing and apparently resulted in a bruised femur.

Some stoke from our first Renegade drop last week on Cayoosh in fairly good conditions considering we skied things that had already slid, Brian's pictures:
