I can see stuff getting stolen down in the Village but up at Roundhouse?

Our crew always does the 3way splitup with skis and poles and it has been so far so good. Is it getting worse up there? Did they hand out free gondi ride coupons in Surrey or something?

Any busy resort with the chance of your shit getting jacked, yes.

From personal experience, i'd say they're quite common. Only takes a second to lock up your gear as well... brilliant idea by whoever came up with it.

We do a ski split and the ski key. It only takes an extra 30 seconds. Roundhouse is bad for this as it's super easy for someone to upload with no skis then download with the stolen skis.

skis were split up, I guess not far enough though. The Bent Chets are pretty bright so if someone really wanted to steal them they could look around, just pisses me off man- theyre prolly sold in Surrey by now, bummer for my buddy especially if we get some more snow next week, his park skis just wont do!

Awesome snow today! Pretty busy despite the traffic problems the vancouverites seemed to have today!

I skied Blackcomb today and they got the alpine cracked, but I heard Whistler did not, so tomorrow will be the day for Peak chair shenanigans! Get up early!

    Did Spankys open today?

Gong show day for us, left the city at 6:40, parked at 9:45, tons of waiting due to bad accidents. Sea to Sky was icy but driveable, other than the idiots that kept locking up their wheels and sliding down hills, I really wish they would enforce big $$ fines for people driving all seasons in sketchy conditions. Wanted to ski Blackcomb but Base 2 was full, parked in day lots, by this time Excalibur had a massive line and was running uber slow? Mechanical issues?

Couple good laps off the t-bar on Whistler at least. Would have been nice if they got Harmony.

Bummer man. It was kind of crazy at Wizard with the Excal going down from the get go. Spankys went and it was awesome. I spent most of the time in the cbc zone because the line at glacier was pretty big all day. lots of lift line shuffling today. I think the peak will be one of the best days tomorrow. Everything stayed cold and it will be deep as fuck.

We left Van at 6:05 AM and we were the 3rd car at the scene of the head-on just outside of Function. Once all of that was over, I think we were parked at Creekside by 9 AM? By the time we got through the lines for our first run it was 10 AM (according to my run tracker). By then everything was already pretty well chewed.

Hoping another early start tomorrow ends differently.

Thanks for the info dude. Thinking I will head back up for Peak tomorrow, didn't get enough vert in today with all the shenanigans. I was doing the shuffle as well, luckily no one smacked me with their pole either

Lee - were you on Whistler today? I thought I saw your crew at Harmony but wasn't sure if it was you.

chadeau - shit, did the people in that accident survive? I saw some heavily damaged cars on a flatbed coming down after traffic started moving again. Road is fine and dandy now so tomorrow should be an easy cruise... I really gotta plan better and start using the hostels though.

Thankfully everyone survived the accident. Luckily enough, one of the earlier people at the scene was a paramedic just coming off a long on call shift. That person handled the scene like a champ until the emergency crew got there.

What shocked me were the people hell bent on driving through an accident scene with a little more than a car width opening. While it was a powder day, driving through an accident scene while someone is still going between vehicles checking vitals is totally unacceptable. My buddy tried getting vehicles to stop, but some just blazed right on through anyway.

powder11, cool running into you today on the traverse. great day on blackcomb, got 20th glacier chair, ran the lift line and it was deep. then hit smoked salmon and next was 40th into spankys/ruby. what a great day. looking good for you all tomorrow with the amount of stuff that did not open including the glacier.

Awesome day on blackcomb. Kokomas, must have been within a few chairs of you on glacier. I think i was around 20 back but must have been a couple more as I rode the lift line and only saw 2 other tracks on the way down.

Whistler alpine will be a good time if they open it tomorrow, but Monday should be better. From what snow-forecast is saying there should be more snow monday morning than there was today, and far fewer people

Anyone have any alpine openings beta from today? Looked like all alpine lifts were closed at 2PM from the mobile site, forgot to check earlier than that.

Harmony and peak opened at 10:15. We headed out for Flute/oboe laps. Winds seriously picked up at about 1:00. We got back to Burnt Stew at 3:00, during patrols sweep. I asked them if when they closed the alpine, they said about an hour previously. So it closed at about 2:00 then.

Looking at Harvey and Robertsons, and how much it was snowing and blowing. Tomorrow should be good...
