They were at the bottom of my backpack and I was too lazy to get them out! BTW, your Hippie Chutes finally look ready to go.

Also wondering about conditions for this weekend. I'd also love to find some partners for Friday-Sunday. Not looking to do anything crazy, but I'm open to just about anything else.

I am out for this coming weekend (work!) and for the following weekend (work again!). However, I will be back in the Eastern Sierra on March 10-11 with my brother. Let me know if you're interested in joining. I am thinking again a combination of 1) Eastern Sierra giant (Bloody, Tom, Wood, Basin, Laurel-Mendenhall, ...) and 2) some mellower powder-oriented stuff (Sherwins, Crest, Little Morrison, ...).

I'll definitely be in Mammoth on the 10-11 and wanting to tour. Tom is highest on my list, but only if you can skin/ski most of the way.

yeah, MapleLeafGillies showed me some photos from Ginny Lakes on Sunday, let's just say, not-inspiring. We promptly closed them and loaded BCD's trip report with BCrider when they hit Hulk Left on March 7 2009. Reminisce, reminisce ...

Funny and I actually thought that Bloody was pretty good on Saturday. We skied back almost all the way to the car at Laurel Lakes Road (except for the last 1/4 mile).

I'll ditto Schralph on that - saw the photos.

But Franz, at least you are getting out. Good on you. I just can't justify the drive.

I got out on Tues & Wed (lost my dog on the first day, then broke my trekking pole & everything went to shit from there, found her though) so on Wednesday I bought new poles & decided to skin up Punta Bardini and ride from the summit, through the Old Growth to the Tele-Bowls. I found some light stuff up top with decent coverage, and heavy, thin cover down below. Even with the shitty snow, it was still super fun in the Sierra sun for sure, here are some shots I took.

Alright, been meaning to put these up. They are from last weekend on the SE side of Dunderberg.

The coverage was kind of terrible (surprise, surprise). The North aspects above treeline were totally scoured, and south facing stuff was temperature affected, and lots of rocks poking out. Best skiing was definitely in the trees. We dug a pit and did an ECT at about 10,800ft on an ESE aspect; just at treeline - the snow was about 80cm deep there. I saw two weak layers, one about 2-3 inches down, the other about 8 inches down. Both were nonreactive though, and I got no results out of the pit after 30 taps.

Wind slabs above treeline (where the snow was much thinner) was breakable - sort of a pain to ski. It was also pretty rock hard up there, so we didnt bother going all the way to the summit.

Thanks for these. We were debating Bardini vs Sherwins last Sunday, but we were just too lazy and opted for the former. Our 2 laps were pretty good. (Note: I added descriptions to the photos above.)
