I was waiting for this. So wish I was over in Bend this last weekend. Looked like ridiculously good conditions...

In other news, TimberFlats on Sunday was...ummm...FLAT. The family had a good time though!

Saturday was excellent ... I tucked the lady into the lodge and enjoyed the face and Jacob's ladder late afternoon. Sunday was gaper hell but Rock Garden was wonderful, as were the elevators after they opened Cascade late. All funky right now up there with lots of deep blue ice and then big pillows of powder over the ridges.

just to clarify i was complaining about sunday and i wasn't miserable riding with with a longtime buddy. i just haven't ridden on a weekend for so long my psyche was shocked by the liftline wait. i didn't have the good fortune to make it up for storm riding on saturday.

Yeah, it is hard to bring myself to ride weekends at Meadows for that reason.

yesterday at Meadows jumped from a 7/10 to a 9.5/10 right around 2PM when they started spinning Heather. Jack's was insane. Best I've had it. 5 laps of untracked bottomless joy. Best part was, between the long lift lines discouraging people and Cascade opening up and distracting everyone...there were very few people in Heather. What few there were kept lapping Ho Chi, which left the upper gate to me and my friend. Taking the extra chair up Star to access that gate proved to be the move. I was putting my new tracks next to my last ones for 1.5 hours in 20 degree powder, sun shining, on a weekend. Given how crowded the resort was all morning, I could hardly believe it. Meadows on a Sunday is funny like that sometimes, just gotta wait it out. I got first tracks of the season in PR earlier this year at 2:30 on a Sunday too. Go figure. Just gotta hit it right.

Yeah, it was pretty good. Scavenged throughout the morning on MHX, once it looked a little clearer I jumped on Cascade. First bump up - rope drops. First tracks in diamond, yeah, it was pretty good. But only, "pretty" good. You would ride quality, deep, pnw blower but then you would hit super wind buff. Then blower, then buff. Lower rode well (moon and down, that is. Mostly working the gullies and trees in between in upper jacks). After 3 or 4 laps through lower the line got to around 6 mins and I decided to go jump over some trees for awhile instead. It was a good day. Wednesday should line up to be $$$.

three days of touring in a row, Saturday-White River, Sunday-Tom Dick and Harry, Monday-TDH

Definitely the best couple of days of skiing I've had on Hood.

    Now to start editing video..

Skied the past three days with benk and his famous dog. Saturday was sick deep:

Sunday was also sick deep, but didn't pull the camera out. Some video below. Monday was like this:

The snow was...still good. benk + yogi:

    Where's benk?

    Zone: shredded

Finally, my 3 days of skiing condensed into 5 minutes. Starring, of course, benk's dog:

It really pisses me off when real life gets in the way of a ridiculous storm cycle. Out for the next few days. Hope you all get some.

Benk and SEMag, nice work - that looks sick. Nice cycle we are in right now! I need to get out with you guys soon.

Hit Ski Bowl last night, rolled in around 7:15pm, didn't disappoint! Some of the lightest snow I've had at the Bowl!

    Thinking of Meadows tomorrow morning...

Can't tour this weekend, have friends in town and at a cabin, next weekend in LA. I need to get out there soon!
