Berthoud Pass 2011-2012 Observations, Conditions and Stoke
Avalanche Awareness Training
Friends of Berthoud Pass is proud to continue offering our free avalanche awareness classes for the 2011-‘12 season.
In an informal classroom setting we provide backcountry travelers with an overview of avalanche awareness, avoidance, rescue and forecasting methods and skills.
Topics such as route selection, hazard minimization, best practices, preparedness and terrain analysis will be covered in a 2-hour presentation.
The course is open to the public and FREE of charge. Donations are gratefully accepted and benefit our grassroots avalanche education program.
The class runs from 7:00pm until approximately 10:00pm.

also, good to hear about the free avy awareness classes. I'm president of our freeride club so I'll definitely be directing members to some of those. And probably going up myself

Edit -- looking promising:
This Afternoon: Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 25. North northwest wind between 7 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches possible.
Tonight: A 50 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17. North northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Sunday: A 20 percent chance of snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 30. Calm wind becoming west between 6 and 9 mph.
