    Fall bike stoke

It's fall and fall means that ski season is around the corner. Still, Indian Summer has hit and the glow of the aspens couldn't be any better. So stop sitting on your ass and get out an ride. Ski season will be here soon enough

Here's a few pics from my after work ride today.

I headed to Westside trail, a lesser-traveled trail that is a favorite of mine at Crested Butte ski area, with my friend Kriste. Lacking a camera for the moment, these pictures were captured with my cell phone. Kriste caught this one of me.

The aspen forest was shimmering yellow.

And the mountains were glimmering in gold.

Not bad for a few cell phone pics, eh? What a great day to get out and enjoy the best that fall has to offer!

Very nice! I'll be up there tomorrow afternoon, can't wait.

Westside was on my list of quick hits from the condo tomorrow once we get in.

Yeehaw! I just got a new bike about a month ago, and am getting back into it after about 8 years off (don't ask!).

I've been pushing a new Jamis Dakota d29 (neck snapping acceleration) hard tail and the aspens are turning and a few new unscheduled fall road trips are in the planning stages!

should still be great for you! My friend Janae and I hit up Columbine to Avery today. Great ride also, although Avery can be trickier for some folks as it's largely intended at a downhilling trial. But, my 575 does just fine on it. Hit us up while you're in town!

Westside is way fun and you probably won't see anyone on the trail. Been one of my favorite after work rides to hit from town this summer.

We could barely find a place to park today at Golden Gate Canyon Park.

    The weather was almost unbearable.

    The trails were crowded.

    Scenery was so so.

    Trails were pretty boring.

I'm definitely ready for winter to be here.
All I want is to be hardcore.

the trees have barely begun to turn here but some funky ground plants have gone full technicolor:

the grass has gone from bright green to golden in just the last few weeks:

Seeing these combined with the 5 straight weeks of practically continuous rain here is not helping me

This has been normal for us recently:
