Good 2-3 person tent for under $200?
Looking for a tent to start camping again, 2 people, 3 season (maybe me in the winter). looking to get something better then what i can find at Dick's/Wallmart (used to use these, last for 2-3 yrs, OK when the family camper is 10ft away).
Thinking 3 person so that we aren't cramped.
Suggestions?

Hard to beat the REI Half Dome 2 for the price. Go for the Half Dome 2 Plus for the extra space.

I guess not everyone likes the redesign. The older one is a bomber 3+ season tent.

I have a used, but in excellent condition The North Face Moraine 33 Tent. It's a three person, three season tent. Reviews on this tent are excellent. You interested in buying or trading?

Yeah, get that Marmot Titan 3 man on STP. Use Keycode FZS9053E for 35% off and free shipping. Can't do much better than that for $116 shipped.
Brandine: Now Cletus, if I catch you with pig lipstick on your collar one more time you ain't gonna be allowed to sleep in the barn no more!
Cletus: Duly noted.

If you want something lightweight campsaver has a Big Agnes SL2 for around 2 bills with the 15% coupon listed on their site right now link
Not super spacious, but if you're going to carry it a significant distance it's a great option. If you don't care about the extra couple pounds, go for the Marmot.

What are the tents intended uses? Backpacking? Car Camping? How much winter will you really do? There can be a big difference between a 3 and 4 season tent when looking at lightweight tents.
Flat out best bang for the buck...Kelty Salida 2 from any sports store...
$159, rain fly w/vents, gear loft, fits 2 ok, and i think it packs down to about 4.5 pounds
I personally dont like REI tents, Ive always thought better deals could be had with Marmot/Kelty/Nemo/Big Agnes/North Face...just my opinion though
of course check SAC
ebay also has good deals, bought my big agnes fly creek 3 for 250 on there and my mountain hardware trango 3 for 300 both brand new in box

So I don't really have a horse in this race, but if you like the older REI Half Dome construction, Look at their new Passage.

Basically the same tent with a bit more fabric than mesh. $150

I'd say (right now) 80% car camping, with the rest being backpacking, biking and canoeing. Planning to get more and more away from the car camping as I go. Not specifically looking at backpacking tents, but that seems to be what pops up in the searches and fits my future use well.
Used to do this a lot up until about 5 years ago, and have woken up with snow on the ground several times in the early/late months.

+1 on the REI half dome 2 plus.
I got into backpacking this summer and really wanted a sweet tent from TNF (minibus) or a nice marmot. However i went with the half dome 2 plus as the extra length is pretty much a necessity when you are 6'6". I will admit i was a little skeptical of the tent at first as stated above it has a few poor reviews. After a summer of use ill gladly say it kicks ass. It never had a problem with some pretty serious wind and rain. I will say however that the footprint is a solid choice and well with the 20ish bucks, for that matter a footprint is probably a good idea with any tent. Its a great tent and while it may not be super light its really not that heavy for how large it is, besides if your concerned about saving weight buy a really light pack.
Hope that helps,
Shinola

Scored a Kelty Pagoda 4 on eBay for $103, NIB.
Bigger then I initially wanted, but I set it up in the living room and there is no way I could sleep in the recommended direction...
