I think of it like I'm riding the mountain, not the equipment I'm on. But I usually say "let's shred" because I do both and have a lot of buddies that do both and who knows what we're gonna be riding?

I think riding works good for being more vague about what tool you are using. Being a skier and a snowboarder myself it just works better sometimes to using riding.
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention to arrive safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: Wow!!! What a ride!"
"We been runnin' these goddam hills for dang near, huh?"

Naw man I thought you were trolling. I apologize for any butthurt you may have experienced from my interwebz postings in the last coupla days. I wish you no ill will.
yes I do talk to almost anyone that way if I feel they are trolling some BS. If you weren't then - again - my apologies.
Most of my friends use both terms interchangeably, regardless of whether they are skiing or boarding. I often say I am going skiing when I haven't been on two planks in years.
When I am splitting how should I answer?
