Yeah, looking back I'm pretty happy i bit through my tongue cuz if i hadn't i probably would have knocked some teeth out and got concussed pretty badly. So far it really hasn't given me very much trouble other than not being able to talk coherently.

Thanks again to everyone for the info. You guys are pretty lucky to have such a special place in your backyard. Absolutely beautiful country up here. Yesterday was deep (promptly ate shit about half way down my first run) and today was gorgeous, I think we got pretty lucky with the timing.

Tried stopping by the EVO store Saturday to pick up some discounted whistler tickets but they were sold out. Anyone know of any places between maple falls and whistler that sell them? I've heard (some?) 7-11's and possibly Canadian tire in squamish?

After a week of skiing in the Tetons we were happy to be home Sunday to catch the tail end of the nukeage around Baker. Hard to beat skiing deep stable fall line pow in the old growth. Due to the dearth of funny ski line names in the area, we named the zone "Tyler's Blue Balls"; PM chmnyboy for the story.

Here's me and my bro jacob's shots from before my incident on saturday.

of course my camera died the run before i bit my tongue

and flowing alpy, that pic is pleasant compared to what it looks like now, thankfully the doc says its not infected.

really nice snow conditions that promoted fast riding.
slight sun effect from yesterday on south slopes was minimized by speed.
light crowds at ski area, mixture of pros and gapers kept things interesting

toured up snoqualmie today. definite crust at the start...around 3600 it would vary between crust and deep pow, which also characterizes my ski down. went up to about 5600 where the wind was blowing and new snow falling. found some reallllly nice pockets mixed in with some nasty crust. heads up for future days...wind was blowing from the east today to mix up the windloading slopes as well.

the hoar frost that was apparent yesterday wasn't anywhere to be found today...probably what made the crust

Sunday and Monday near Stevens were insane. Deepest, lightest pow I've ever skied in the BC. Jack was having a hard time keeping his head above it on Sunday. By Monday it had settled enough that it didn't feel or ski as deep (and Jack kept up a lot better) but blue skies and the cold-smoke nature of the snow on N. facing aspects more than made up for that. Really stable too, despite the NWAC red eye of death for Sunday. 'course we stuck to the trees and didn't tempt fate on any big, open slopes or avy chutes.

I've been sticking inside the ropes lately waiting for avy danger to come down and it has been great at Stevens. Monday was amazing, the snow quality is great and everything is ski-able. Going back tomorrow! Forecast is calling for a few inches hope it comes through.
