It's not much but I made this edit last April. There is some random bike stuff since we were skiing pow in April, which is awesome. Skiing is at Steven's Pass and the riding is at Galbraith I think.
11/12 will be my first full season in the West! Can't wait for it to start up again!

Crystal has 6" new up top, and the weather pattern is supposed to be trending towards colder and wetter...
From Cliff Mass' blog, "The latest Climate Prediction Center forecast for the next two weeks is for colder than normal and wetter than normal conditions over the Northwest....and the pattern looks very similar to last year's La Nina situation. Forget about watering your garden.
And now the bad news--the computer models are more emphatic than ever that we will have to deal with a second La Nina year...yes, a double dip...."
Keep the "bad news" coming, I say!

How about some current season stoke?
Went up to foggy Muir snowfield today. Conditions were 6+" from the previous day with a breakable crust on top - really awesome for skiing. Very limited visibility with intermittent rain/snow/wind. It was a great day to see the new snow and make some early October turns. Continuous skinable snow starts just above pebble creek around 7200.
Typical view on the way up
Ski partner happy to be in the new snow

Muir was sweet yesterday (Saturday). Full-on sun and a perfectly carveable 1-2 inches of softened crust/packed pow from 9k-pebble. Forecast looks excellent for setting up next weekend.

Things really do look to be setting up well! Later in the week should be trending toward excellence : )

Stevens picked up a nice little smattering of snow. Must have been in return for spreading a little whisky and a little Pliny on Cowboy Mt. ridge last Saturday. Fuck Yeah!!!!
